You can play against computers now!

Yep, from the map editor you can play against computers. Here are the general steps, i also added some critters to kill...of course...

Okay here is a worded walkthrough of how to play the insane comps ( semi tested) while they fix the beta.

1)Open the Editor
2)Click Open Map ( the folder icon)
3)click battle.net, and then login
4)now you can open a map
5)Click the map menu, and then go to player properties. Set the players as computer control
6) Click Map, set game variants and comps to insane (not sure about this part)
7) test map and volia!

You can set the game speed once it launches from the options menu! Have fun while they fix auto matching! im going against 3 comps currently. They are chrono boosting against me the works

wasnt downloading of blizzard maps blocked though? just tried going against 7 comps on the 4v4 map, funny to try..(plus the insane difficulty)

No it wasn't :) You could download them after logging in to the editor.

How is the AI? - I know the previous beta had that watered down version, but I read early on that SC2s AI is supposed to be pretty sophisticated; 'actual' scouting, econ raids, and the like. (?)

Ive played quite a number of matches vs the ai. And medium is better than half the players ive played in the entire beta & im a plat player(tho not good enuf for dimand :-/).

Insane just cheats so its gunna be hard to beat no matter what.

The AI games I've played are pathetic. In the first the AI Zerg had all the basic buildings with a Lair and Hydra Den, but only one Roach, one Hydralisk and one Queen when I attacked. Next game AI was Terran, had a Factory and Ghost Academy but only three or four rines, and he actually surrendered when he saw my proxy pylon with six Zealots and three Sentries Warped-in. And the AI was set to Insane!

I hope this isn't the AI because it is just a joke, really. Or is something wrong here?

What skill level did you play it on Drake?

You can set it to Very Hard, and it is definitely NOT a joke lol.
Took me 30 mins to beat it in a PvT on LT.

I set it to Insane, following the exact steps in the original post.
