In terms of starcraft communities and fansites my favourite has always been this one. In regards to this i was wondering if there have been or are going to be any tournaments hosted by SCL. I've seen the odd one that's hosted by a member of the community but they seem generally low key. By "SCL Tournaments" i guess i mean more advertised on the site and perhaps even streamed on the observer with casting done by someone.

i feel like scl tournaments should have there own place in the forums like starcraft 2 discussion and starcraft 2 strategy etc... that why it will be easier for members to set up tournaments within the community

According to what was said in the Fan Site Q&A I am not so sure:

I am not sure which email they are talking about because the only email I have found in regards to running tournaments is on the Europe BNET and only talks about beta specific tournaments. http://forums.battle.net/thread.html?topicId=23307930966&sid=5010
Also they talk about "profiting" off tournaments so this could exclude all the tournaments that have been held here since no organizer has profited here. I am trying to find out who to find out exactly what is up so I am going to try that email and see what is up. I will let everyone know what I find if I get any info. Wish me luck.

Thanks for bringing that up Silence, I didn't remember those were his exact words.
I just assumed it wouldn't be a big deal since there have already been so many "prize" tournaments going on and nobody ever mentioned telling Blizzard about it (and technically, you can tell they weren't blizzard approved since many people were playing on eachother's accounts in the multi-server platforms, which is not something blizzard approves of).
Either blizzard will go crazy once the game hits retail and enforces this rule, or they should really stop being so vague, and imposing ridiculous rules but then not following up on them. Of course, legal reasons blablabla, but come on, do they want to let the tournaments grow but only cash in once the community has built long lasting infrastructures? That's terrible! Wouldn't it be a better strategy to follow up on these tournaments and help them flourish instead of just always taking instead of giving?
Maybe I'm reading too much into this...
