Right, I know it's like that in the books, but often what happens in the books doesn't materialize into game lore.
Actually, the books have a higher canonical value than the games. Anything in the recent books not only overwrites the old lore but is almost guaranteed to be in the new game. Blizzard has changed it's approach.
Keep in mind most of the books came out AFTER sc was released

Then you'll be confused in StarCraft 2. Chris Metzen has not only specifically confirmed several book retcons but has said that specifcally that the books are more canonical.
