I'll still lurk. SCL is one of my popular past times. Considering you know, I was maybe a contributor at one point and time.
Now I wonder where SpaceDominator, Siegest, and Chronos are hiding...

Hello, I am a new member, and also in beta ( well its offline now) and I want to be a part of this community and I would like to "stay around" when Sc2 releases, I like the idea of creating a SCL clan, I am at the moment a zerg player and i just LOVE SC2, hope to get to know all of you!
Haha, I know the number of forum member account exploded when the beta started (problary because beta key contest, that is how I ended up here via youtube video)
So unless your giving out free sc2 this forum is going to die.
Just kidding, I think there will be alot of new players here. Hopefully if we give out enough commercial at sc2. We need to write some good guides and tips. Not just a strategy discussion. (I visited sc2armory.com alot just to check the unit stats, maybe we need a part here with all sc2 unit stats (advanced stats aswell but only the "needed"))
You'll always need one more person to bitch about how Blizzard screwed the lore, art, writing and spirit of the StarCraft series*. So I'll definitely stay. :D
*I dearly hope I won't have to, but I'm taking a pessimistic stance so as not to be dissapointed, Brood War for me IS one of the Holy Grails of the gaming (and not only gaming) world, so it's difficult to imagine Blizz maintaining the same level with so many things changed. But they better do, they are up to the task.
I dont talk awhole lot on these forums but i'll come back to read whats going on =)
I talk a bit, but only because I'm trying to pass the time until phase 2 or release, whichever comes first. When that happens, I'll check a couple times a day.
I think there's virtually no risk of members leaving en mass for SC2. Namely because it's coming out in a trilogy. As soon as Wings of Liberty drops we'll hop right into Heart of the Swarm discussion, and after that LoV. We've probably got three years post launch before we lose the pre-launch fuel. The trilogy move really serves to fan the flames of the community for Blizzard.
I think some games risk loss of community post-launch, but not SC2, it's practically built to be an esport, and it has a huge amount of potential in terms of modding community, and strategy evolution.
I agree with Roland.
Well put Roland. Indeed, with their trilogy set-up there's no way the hype will die for years.
Remember how excited you were when you were playing Diablo2 (Or Wc3) and there was some major news about LoD (or TFT)'s development? I don't know about you, but I was hyyyped when they announced new classes, heroes, mechanics etc...!
I've been visting this site/posting since 99 or 2000. I only went back since they reopened the forums and Blizzforums was annoying...
Yeah , I'm going to stay. People who leave will come back, at least twice; when the expansion details are leaking out =P
I'm gonna go kind of quiet on the boards for about a week. I want to devote as much free time to the campaign as possible...
Plus...I don't want to inadvertently stumble into any spolier-rich threads.
But I'm gonna stick around afterward. We still have two more expansions and 10+ years of SC gaming to look forward to.
Plenty of stuff to talk about. :)
If we can help the community here in SCL grow, then I am more than willing to stick around as long as possible.
I think SCL will be better than jumping into the huge pool that will be the Blizzard forums, as well as the RealID issue...
I feel its better here, I get better feedback as well as know more of the community. I will however lurk around the Blizzard forums, there will always be "interesting" stuff happening there. :)
I'm quite ready to abandon the official Blizz forums with the onset of RealID, so SCL will be my prime location for discussing SC2 and its sequels to come.
