Re: ghost vs marine unarmed
Most Marines are re-soc criminals. There's a difference between that scum, and a someone trained since it's childhood to the top possible physical condition. I would say that if the Marine grabs the Ghost, the later is probably screwed, but if the Ghost sticks something on the Marine's visor, it's the other way around.

Everyone spends their time working out in prison.

The very little Close Quarters Battles (CQB) that they have would be concentrated in taking down other Terran Marines or the like (Ripper armor). Ghosts are a closely held secret within the now-defunct Confederacy and successor Dominion. I do not think the Terran Marine Corp would teach Marine recruits how to take on the Ghosts. Also, with the events of encounter with both the Protoss and Zerg with pacified Terran enemies, I don't think CQB will be prioritized anytime soon.
The only other Terrans that they would be trained to fight are the Kel-Morian Combine and Umojan Protectorate. Only the UP have been shown to harbor ghost-like operatives beyond the Dominion, and I'm not too sure how aware the ranks within the Dominion military are aware of them. So Marines will be unlikely prepared to take on highly agile Ghost operatives.
Re: ghost vs marine unarmed
if they both had no armor, ghost wins, both with armor, ghost can cloak and gain a bid advantage. if they do get a lot of protection and strength from the armor, can't they out grapple the marine?? the samurai who wore a lot of armor used grappling and joint manipulation techniques because strikes were not effective against armored opponents...wouldn't the ghost use the same strategy against an armored marine?
Quote:
Jujutsu evolved among the samurai of feudal Japan as a method for defeating an armed and armored opponent without weapons. Because striking against an armored opponent proved ineffective, practitioners learned that the most efficient methods for neutralizing an enemy took the form of pins, joint locks, and throws. These techniques were developed around the principle of using an attacker's energy against him, rather than directly opposing it.

Re: ghost vs marine unarmed
well like many of the opinions here about the ghost already being trained is true they're trained like soviot union soldiers beaten to near death everyday until being in top physical form and being willing to do just about anything the fact he has Psi powers increase the chance of survival. (dont know if i spelled soviot right)
Re: ghost vs marine unarmed
It's Soviet. And "soldiers beaten to death everyday until being in top physical form" scares me shitless. Never heard of this, even though I live in Russia.
And as we all know being in top form means unharmed. :D And some other stuff of course.

In Russia your guys swim in human blood to prepare... or at least these use to prepare for war like that. Live training and what not. Russians = Mad ass. The Russian Spetzna guy on the worlds greatest warrior show is cool. You can tell he has killed people and swam through human blood. haha.
But Ghost hands down. A marine versus anything looses. It's just a marine!
