If Blizzard did a new vote for which Dark Templar to use, which would you choose? Classic, SC2, or Both still?

I want a Borus DT.
I always thought the double scythe was really clever. Dual wielding daggers is kinda old and overdone.
I think both are lame. I would like the SC1 redone to make him look more badass. I hate his stance. I voted for the Sc2 model.
I really don't like how they did both. It's really asymmetrical with how every other unit in the game works.
In my opinion, they're BOTH 'SC2' :p.
I'm happy with both ^_^. It's a cute exception to the usual rule of a unit only having a single model just for those individualistic DTs :p.
I prefer the sc2 model, he looks far more intimidating and he has a far superior stance. The sc1 model cloak and stance realy spoil the unit.
I like both.
The classic DT always looked like he used some sort of whip weapon, or a sword that bent when he slashed with it. I want that back.
The single bladed one. Now, if only they made its pose more intimidating and aggressive.
edit:
also make the warpblade longer and a bit more flame-whip.
Now, an energy whip isn't too bad an idea. Too reminiscent of Iron Man 2 at this stage, but it sounds cool.
I'm fine with the Dark Templar the way they are, though I wonder if they can get multiple sprites for other units, too. Maybe Ghosts? And the Zerg need in on the action, too. =P

they looks fine without invisibility armor.but warp blades (color) looks plastic..sucks (especially with cloak ability)
The dual scythe and model just look more like a dark refugee than the classic model. The new one has more of that Darth Maul appeal, it looks more badass.
The classic one with a longer and less defined blade, it is a warp blade after all. ^^
I personally think the classic one-bladed version makes more logical sense than the dual scythe version. Because if I see a guy like that lookin all badass I expect him to have an epic fight with a full unit of marines and just come out swinging...not be a little cloak-and-dagger unit. The classic version says "assassin" to me more than anything. one hand to grab the neck, stick the rine from behind. makes sense. the scythe dude looks like he belongs beside the spartans. lol. its badassecorized, and cool, but doesnt quite say stealth to me. unless you look at it from a death had one scythe ive got two point of view i guess lol.
I think the double-ended scythe is supposed to invoke the idea of the Grim Reaper crossed with Darth Maul.
Both.
I'd also like to add Boros DT and make different voices(and maybe lines) for each of them to emphasize their distinctions.
And the sound of their weapons ahs to go as well. I want the classic lethal blade of untold energies to rend my enemies with, not this whip-like sounding thingy.
Ghosts? That would be good. And male Ghosts would glare at females. =))
" - What're you looking at?"
" - You got a good forms... Ehh, uniforms." XD
Zerg? I think their production system is good enough to make beasts precisely for what they are needed, so I guess if there is a specie, all individuals of it should look alike.
So - no. :)
To be completely honest, I've never even looked at which one is currently in the game. Or do the two alternate?
I remember the whole poll and discussion stuff, but I've been having so much fun with 1v1s that I haven't taken a good look at every unit yet (not even my beloved zerg).
If I were to vote now, I'd pick the one with the double sided scyth. Looks pretty badass in those pics.
I'm going with them both, I dodn't tink it is problem when I play, and I love little random stuff like that, gives the game a little something more!
In the beginning, I found that the dual scythe thing was not really working for me.
How the hell do you fight with them!! unless they are sharp on the top side to, witch they actually look to be on the picture.??
And further more they are not all that assassin like for me, but hay I guess that's how blizzard rolls. :D

The classic one. Give him a longer blade though.
The dual-system used now, though, causes me no problems at all.
"Both" should not be an option. It should have NEVER been an option. Though I prefer the classic (it could use a blade about twice as long), I'd take either — so long as there was only ONE model. I hate the fact that we have two models SO MUCH that each time I play Protoss I merge all of my double-scythe DTs into Archons and then kill off any leftovers by the hands of my classic DTs, even if it means I lose the match (which is why I usually stick to Terran). I have yet to see a poll that asks which one a person would prefer if they could only choose one. I'll probably create one in a week or so after this one dies off.
btw, voted classic, but it needs a much longer blade.
Really? A double sided sickle has to be the most ridiculous weapon I can think of - been saying this since they day it was unveiled. Original model FTW!!
You know whats even more ridiculous then a double sided sickle? Duel wielding a katars made out of Plasma generated by a persons mind to destroy tanks
o wai
Also, I don't even get the purpose of the Poll. Frankly, you could put up any poll with a SC1 unit design and a SC2 unit design and in every single one bar none people would pick SC1 with the possible exception of siege tanks.
Honestly for the games they work in it's a fantastic policy. Every single game they've made relies on them making extremely characteristic, definable, immanent, and reducible designs for almost everything. Going for realistic designs in a RTS while not reciprocating the realism in all directions results in a game like CC. If your going for realism in a RTS you need a design like CoH, and that isn't a viable one for Starcraft, or any blizzard game.Quote:

It wasn't as noticeable in early games because Sprites are just intrinsically more definable, reducible, etc,etc so they didn't have to go the extra mile. Going into WC3 and WoW they probably realized they needed to adopt a different artistic direction, or rather manifest there old one in a different way.
The Lighting scheme came to be because of limitations of technology going into Wc3 and early WoW development. Going into WoW cata and the recent SC2, they've made very good usage of new shader tech to create a darker atmosphere more in line with what we got in games like d2/1 and wc2/1.
I like that they're both there, but why just Dark Templars is what I'm wondering. Remember the ghost fiasco?
The scythe looks stupid and clumsy. I voted both though, in the official poll, just cause it was an option. If i had to choose, i would say the original (duh) but honestly, it doesnt look strong right now. DTs feel small and weak. Id like their original fear-inducing SLASH back too, but SC2 just doesnt seem to have any very good sound effects... :(
Actually I believe there is a third DT tribe called Borus. I think it's the one that Zeratul belongs to.
Yeah, definitely made up.

Way to jump to conclusions..
And it's actually Boros, not Borus.
Edit: And no, Zeratul is Lenassa.
Edit 2:
Zer'atai Dark Templar----Lenassa Dark Templar---Lenassa Stalker---------Boros Void Ray

And just for the record, all Dark Templars in StarCraft 1, are Lenassa.
Oh, it's Boros. I thought Borus looked a little funny.
The old one, but it needs a longer blade for dramatic effect.
The new one looks just god-awful; ridiculous, and garish.
The armor does not say "assassin" in the slightest, and a double-sided energy scythe has to be the worst weapon idea I've ever seen. Aside from just being outright laughable and so unwieldily as to be ridiculous, it smacks of, "OMG moar=bettar!" What's next, dual-wielding dual scythes?
The old DT at least had the subtlety appropriate for such a unit, and wasn't trying to go so overboard with style as to have none, as the new one does.
I'm fine with the, "Zerg bone armor," look of the Zer'atai, but I think it would be best suited on a different unit, potentially a new Dark Templar expansion unit.
