So Bashiok replied on a huge post with constructive criticism for Battle.net 2.0.

So it seems they're working on an epic response to our issues.
Hopefully it will be release soon . . . very soon.
People are way to dramatic about this type of stuff.
It's nice to see Blizzard bend over backwards for our money. You dirty little ***** you!
This is good news indeed, though I’ll wait till something actually happens and stay just a little sceptical to be safe. :)
You know, a "response" doesn't mean, "we'll fix it," it might just be mostly a PR explanation of why they did certain things people complain about, and why they won't fix them.
I mean we can hope for things to improve, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too terribly much, as the phraseology here implies to me that they're simply going to "respond" to complaints, not fix them.
In the end, has Blizzard ever really let you down before? Have some faith.
Please oh please just give us cross-regional play, and I'll be such a happy chappy! Please don't let this just be a justification on why they feel that the lag isn't worth supporting cross-regional play, please let them say that they're going to enable it somehow >_<.
u know what would rock.
bobby kotick making a kitten video saying all the wrong things that he usually says and thinks, but saying at the end : how can u be mad about microtransactions or anything while watching these cute kittens :)
Oh absolutely they have, hence my pragmatism.
Do I hope for the best? Definitely. Do I expect them to suddenly change a ton of features of a product they've been working years on because of recent public backlash on it and said product is scheduled to release in a month?
Still hopeful, but dubious.
What have Blizzard done, that disappointed you so, earlier? Apart from butchering WarCraft lore in WoW, that is.
Is that not a relevant reason for caution?
That and their numerous, "paid services," spawned from WoW, becoming an increasingly slippery slope.
It's a relevant reason, but it's not a huge deal. I agree with the paid services though, not because they are paid, but because there are so many that could be merged into one service. And they should be cheaper.
The reason I'm so optimistic though, is because I remember the early-days Steam very well. And look how it turned out. Now people love Steam. It's extremely popular. While in the months after release it was utterly hated.
Can't wait to hear what Archer has to say about this.
What can he say? It's not revealing any changes yet. We can only hope.
Forgot to throw in my two cents. What this post says is basically what I've been saying all along. Blizzard always listens to their fans and when they get things wrong the first time they'll usually fix it up given time. If they do address these issues the fans have been raising then SC2 will truly be a worthy successor to the original. The game I believe already is, but Battle.net 2.0 still needs a bit more work and functionallity before it deserves "2.0" IMO.
I've also been constantly reminding people that this is a beta test and not to get so emotional. Blizzard have seen the feedback, responded, and the game still isn't released. Good work to Blizzard and the community in general.
Most Blizzard games have been delayed after a release date was set so I don't think they will be afraid to push SC2 back if they realize the criticism against Battlet 2.0 is valid enough to warrant it getting fixed before release.
Huh, I wonder if the problems they intend to address will be addressed and hopefully fixed after the b.net downtime for the month.
I really don't think anything is going to be "fixed". Most likely the response will be a well thought out PR spin explaining why they've done things the way they have. I'm not a conspiracy theorist on spychys level but this is not blizzard circa 1998, nor is this the industry climate of that time.
I tend to agree w/ spichi, over the past 12 years since Starcraft's original release blizzard has evolved.
Never have been a w0w fan.
Here's what needs to happen:
Fix cross regional support and create a single dedicated network.
(w/ as much money as they're making off w0w this shouldn't be a concern)
Public text and voice rooms
Create a Ranked Clan League
Fix these issues and i believe we'd all be sold! ;O
Lol at refrense to husky's kitten video!
A couple things.
lol blizzards been aware of this since day one.
-and-
Their is no conspiracy. Calm down folks. They're really that stupid/out of touch.
Here are my predictions/analysis. First of all, some reevaluation of priorities has occurred through blizz HQ. Our recent collective community outburst had an impact. That being aid, I doubt chat channels will make launch. Instead, the upcoming situation report will work towards bridging a player to developer gap -and- a developer to player gap. It's going to acknowledge that the developers are aware of many of our recent issues (specifically, case by case, not just a broad acknowledgment). Which they may or may not have actually been aware of prior to this shitstorm. And how these issues tie back into there overarching plan. Finally, their going to acknowledge some changes they've made as a result of us. Probably moreso in the Global play and Custom games list then in chat channels. Then end.
Just try to take it at face value. The fact that they're going out of there way for a unilateral response in itself is reassuring because they care about our outcry and value our still somewhat minority reaction.
I would expect him to just start putting kittens in his mouth and chew halfway through the video.
Spychi is just an oversensitive and bitter dude. Ignore him. You make one comment about him and he gets overly defensive, starts spewing stuff about censorship, and god knows what else.
Now I'd better go hide in a neosteel reinforced bunker before he tells me to lay off whatever I take.
Canadian w/ a United States of America Confederate Flag?
Lemme guess.. your great great great grandfather was a draft dodger..
bwhahah
Really? Name one. Name a single Blizzard game that was delayed after a real, live date was announced. Not just a general timeframe (summer, fall, sometime in 2009, etc), but an actual day that you can mark on your calendar.Quote:

That's not going to happen. They might allow some form of cross-region play, but they're not going to do away with the concept of regions entirely.Quote:

You mean the Terran Confederacy flag? This is a StarCraft fan forum, how can you not know that! :p
Pic from brood war? LMFAO you of all ppl here should know a confederate flag when you see one..
Yes i know i'm well aware of the reenactment of the civil war played out in starcraft.
United Earth Directorate vs Confederate Rebels
Kind of funny to see a canadian w/ a rebel flag because the two don't go together.

Laugh all you want killer. That is a pic of the tail of a ship from a brood war cut scene. It is also a confederate flag, but that's not why it's his avatar.
Weeeeell...
Technically... Its a pic of the sub main section of a sattelite from a StarCraft cut scene, namely this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGtkC5Yy8TY
It is also not a US of A confederate flag, but a Terran Confederacy flag. While the Terran Confederacy flag is definetly based upon the USA Confederacy flag there are some defining differences between them (like less stars and elongated corners in the terran confederacy one).

Also looking forward to hear blizzards reply/further explanation/possible solution to this.
