It's hide, /hide btw folks (with [])
Im watching it, and 2 things i noticed so far, Nullifires(Disruptors) kicks ass! really like that unit, they made it bigger though, in BR1 you could barely see difference between Nullifire and Probe!
Also dunno did anyone see that, but in Roach warren there is 2 upgrades O.o one is for 25/sec regen but what is another one?
Edit: I have just finished BR3 :) and i must agree with others it is amazing :D I really like how Infestors were burrowing ^^ also this Zerg know to play Zerg :D rofl XD overall great BR, really made my day :)

Oh god I hate Browder's voice.
Seem like the graphical effects are unfinished. The stalker and pheonix attacks look piddley compared to the old dragoon cannon.
Anti-grav feels awkward and bizarre on the pheonix.
Zerg mind control seems too good with moveable burrowed casters.
I was surprised not to see templars, although I guess parasite and psi storm usage would of been deadly.
I definately liked this game more than the other two.
Very exciting game!

Looking forward to downloading in high-def.
Damn that was a cool game.
So much shorter than the other two, though. By several minutes.
Also, is David Kim the only person in Blizzard who uses air units...?
And two new portraits: Immortal (kinda) and Disruptor. Both are looking pretty shnazzy. Probably the Void Ray too, but they never clicked on it...
@ Mr.peasant
Yeah, probably cuz of Lore, since its not even close to old Broodlings, so now Brood Lords 'shoots' Mantelings, it got the same model as 'Broodling' at those pics where Brood Lords are attacking with them...
New broodling. It spawns when hatcheries are destroyed.
Concerning the battle report, I found the early game to be absolutely excruciating. It was so... rock paper scissors... I hate that. And nullifiers seem to be so frustrating. I'm sure it will be really hard to balance maps because of the force field.
But as the game progresses it just gets more and more action packed and interesting. It was an awesome game alltogether, and the players skill seems to have improved a great deal! The obviously focused on micromanagement much more than in the previous games.
In what way?Quote:

Yeah new broodling. Have we seen that phase prism portrait before btw? I thought that was pretty cool.
There were some nice twists in there, especially mind controlling those Colossi.
Some things to comment:
Stalker walk animation looks really wimpy.
Stalker attack animation hit effects are missing, although they show up during protoss on protoss fighting when the stalker is mind controlled.
Phoenix feels weird. It's not a great model for its speed. It looks like it's supposed to be majestic rather than fast.
void ray's front no longer spins, fixed position. Kinda like it not spinning 'cause you can easily read how many beams its shooting.
Death animations not in this build.
This build is much older than it seems, probably from the same time when BR2 just came out (BR2 is based on a build months older since it took like 6 months to get out after BR1)
Zealot death animations look much more natural
Immortal portrait now makes sense (the half dead protoss is in-cased in a fluidic membrane)
Disruptor (nullifier in this video) has an amazing looking portrait
Force field feels OP, probably need to have a reduced staying time or more expensive energy cost.
My main concern was forcefield. The zerg had a decent chance of doing some damage because of he was aggressive with his first 8 or so zerglings, but that whole attempt was squelched by two nullifiers casting a forcefield. That's a pretty hard counter imo. I can imagine three nullifiers perma-blocking a narrow choke for the whole early game until the protoss tech can kick in. I think it's too hard of a counter to melee/low range units.
Though concerning this spell, as the game progresses armies get more diversified and goals like map domination become more viable so I think forcefield applies really well to the mid game and beyond.
That's really about it though, I thought burrow and blink usage was great in this game. And lots of other stuff like mind control and warp-in were used to great effet. Great game overall.
New Broodling, not Drone...
Actually build is somehow combine of new and old build, since Infestor is old but Mantalings(Broodlings) are new... Also Nullifire(Disruptor) is much bigger then Before, and easier to notice, in BR1 it looked like a Probe...Quote:

Now THAT was a battle report. That's how they all should be. Exciting and lots of action. I seriously can't wait till beta.
Yeah... I meant that, BR1 is the blizzcon build, which was about 2 months older than the actual in house build during the blizzcon date. BR2 was the 3 months after the Blizzcon date inhouse build, but released about 6 months after Blizzcon. This one, BR3, is probably the 6 months after Blizzcon date, released now.
So until Beta comes along, these battlereports are always much older builds than the current inhouse version. If the screenshots are any indication, there are much more polishing happening (new zerg building effect, new spawning pool etc etc)
Mantling could simply be units that were never shown.
I can't remember what they were called, but the little units that spawned when a hatchery was destroyed (now called mantaling) were already in the blizzcon build.
Perhaps, but they both look like the same model O_o
-Psi
Well we could see what they were called when we were playing the alpha version at events. I just don't remember checking, and yeah I probably didn't bother because they looked so much like broodlings. They were (and probably still are) really fragile and clearly don't last very long though : )
What I really want to see is a better carrier. Dammit why blizzard, why would you still keep the donkey horned binocular launching tempest reskin?
HD version can be found there

SWEET
Damn, the best BR so far, I love PvZ and in SC2 ...damn soo many options to just pwn a zerg player
The game looks awesome
I'm disappointed in DK for not building Observers. A single one could of spared him ~10 Zealots, 3 Disruptors, and Two Colossi.
Anyway, game is looking very nice.
Also: Why is this not on the front page of the site yet?
Betcha that was part of the plan all along...not getting observers. DK appears to be quite godly at this game, and making such a costly mistake seems silly for someone of his caliber. I still think some of these games are staged, or at least has criteria set forth at the beginning (build this unit, and don't build this unit...etc).
Actually, after watching the HD version... I'm thinking that this BR3 is actually on an older build than BR2!
Why do I make this proposterous claim? watch BR2, you can instantly notice the much updated UI, this one is still using the same UI from BR1.
Also, notice that none of the death animations have been added in, and that from BR2's zerg, nothing has been updated at all. Nothing new at all, no new spawning pool, no new effects, nothing. The hatchery looks the exact same, and we know that it has already been remodelled in the latest screenshots.
So I propose this hypothesis:
They made 2 BRs during the BR 2 period. Recorded both games, however only got time to translate one game and the subsequent legal issues that came with it.
Now with this one, they "leak" solely to korea and other non American websites. The timeline for this release has to dramatically cut short.
To sum up my findings, there has been nothing new added to the zerg. We get to see progress on the protoss since 9 months ago (BR1). The map is nothing new (we saw this kind of map in GC08). And the biggest evidence here is the interface, which suggests this game was recorded BEFORE BR2.
In other words, the Beta is slightly delayed (they said early June, it's coming out of mid june already) and this is their contingency plan.
Anyway takers on my theory?
Addendum to my theory... the protoss also don't use the new warp in animation from blizzcast 8
There's no reason to do that.Quote:

These games would be better if they had actually done that.
Yeah a lot of things look graphically incomplete
Wow the game looks amazing. Even the parts that are obvious placeholders or obsolete models look so smooth when animated.
Obviously anything having to do with stats and strategies is probably already out of date, but here are some observations
- Like others are saying, what was the deal with no observers? Sure he had a huge economic lead but he could have saved a lot of the trouble he got into with just one observer. In fact I kind of worry that a lot of the cool tactics the Zerg player used just wouldn't work, at all, if the enemy has detection. Could be an issue.
- Zerg player showed some impressive use of burrow micro early on, then it's like he forgot he could use it. At about 9:00 he gets in that fight with the Stalkers and tries to run away with his roach troops, letting a lot of them die for no reason.
- Force field and Disrupters seem to come out really fast for how strong they are, especially against Zerglings and roaches. But that's subject to balance of course. I defintely see potential for some pimpest plays or just really bitchy force field tactics :D
- Neural Parasite = awesome, and shown off to very good effect in this match. However I kind of agree with the idea that maybe the builds were staged to show that off. Like above, if there had been even one Observer that trick against the Colossi wouldn't have worked.
- Generally sweet micro on both sides, for a change, as well as intelligent unit countering. It wasn't just one-sided like some parts of the other BRs. Seems like Zerg just got outresourced. I'm kind of curious whether this was due to the early econ harass by Protoss or if Zerg just didn't keep up with worker production.
I'll play both eventually. But the Zerg just feel weak and not really innovative right now. Zerlings, Roaches replace Hydras, Infestors replace Defilers, burrow micro... it reminds me too much of SC1 Zerg. If DK had built just ONE Observer, that game would of been over much earlier.
It was the fuckin Proton Charge from those Obelisks.
Despite it being an older build, it was still really nice to watch. It was nice to see David Kim attacking from all sides, he used a Phoenix (which looks better btw), a void ray (attack looks cool, but wierd), warp prism, etc. Zerg player made good use of the infestor (too bad it wasn't the new model), and good baneling sneak attack.
Just a great battle from both sides.
