Re: Reminder: Terraining Contest still seeking entries
OH CRAP! He found me!!! *rushes away*
Re: Reminder: Terraining Contest still seeking entries
Just a quick question from my side: Are people from Europe allowed to participate in the contest? I looked for any rules concerning that, but I saw none.
I already send in my submission, but it is something I want to know... :P After all... Else I am disqualified. >.> ^^'

I'm sure whoevers reading the emails knows that. Time sent. 5:47 AM.
(I need to sleep).
Also: Question....since it's before the deadline, can I resubmit my entry? I was too sleepy and forgot to turn up my resolution for the shot so i have crappy resolution on my image sent. Plus, just noticed a some issues with it's layout, the crashed ship is positioned in a way that overclutters the shot and detracts from the beauty of the skyline.
:D
Tons more issues I have with the shot. Kept on changing thematic styles halfway through some doodads and the feel of the terrain mismatches with the later stuff I added. Started out just wanting to capture the mournful landscape of a dieing world, not in some grand cataclysm but of slow atrophy, a noble, serene death, and then I got carried away and made a small vignette of a "plot".
(Original shot was just a closeup of the coastline, which is why it's so inordinately detailed compared to the rest of the shot, and the stuff in the front)
Still, it was a pretty nice intro to aesthetic terraining. Never really did that before, not much of an artist. Though I'm pretty familiar with level design.
Also, getting units to pose in the Editor is a bitch -_-.
I submitted away, but my machine is limited to 1024x768 and had a really lowres entry.
IMO, the contest rules should state a resolution next time, to even out the competition between people with different machine configs.

If you are worried about it, perhaps you could request somebody with a better rig to get an HD shot for you?
Re: Reminder: Terraining Contest still seeking entries
I'm trying to make something but I suck at using doodads. And I can't think of a scene.
Re: Reminder: Terraining Contest still seeking entries
Content extended until June 20th.
NewComplex - I don't think we got yours.
Re: Reminder: Terraining Contest still seeking entries
I suppose you can blame me for shrouding this contest with other news. :(
Everybody! Make some cool terrain and get to work!!! :D
Re: Reminder: Terraining Contest still seeking entries
Well now that you guys have extended it, I think I might actually be able to enter. I've been very busy as of late; thus, I have been unable to have access to the computer that SC2 is on, much less play with the map editor.
