Yeah, the 2+ queen builds are quite effective vs VR rushes in PvZ. And the 2nd or 3rd queen is never wasted. So you could try that and tech to lair while he is harassing your base (ineffectually).

Also, baneling bust as a counter-attack is risky. You could lose your banelings to FF ona ramp esp if he has at least 2 sentries. He can just FF in fron to f his units and behind the banelings and trap them to die to stalker/sentry fire.

A properly microed pair of Vikes can own a single VR easily. Especially if you have a few 'rines down on the ground acting as a quasi meat shield. Three can take on two VRs.
