It's much harder to get roaches out now... and now every toss player I play against just DESTROY me with zealot rushes. I don't think i've seen anyone do anything but those in my last three games. It sucks!

Post a replay and I'll give you some pro tips
Spine Crawlers are the key to holding off a Zealot rush :]. Go very mineral-heavy early in the game. Then with your first 100 gas you can either get Ling speed or Lair tech.
I generally like to skip Roaches entirely vs early Zealot aggression because it's possible to hold off with just Zerglings and Spine Crawlers. You just need to know it's coming, so send a Drone scout into the P's base at 10 supply or thereabouts. If you see 2 Gateways, react accordingly, and periodically send Zerglings to prod the entrance to the Protoss base to make sure that he/she really IS preparing for a Zealot attack.
banelings also rip zlots to shreds, might not be ready for the initial rush, but they are sure a great counter attack waiting to happen (especially if the protoss player FEs)
whenever i try practicing my 2 gater against a zerg player, they usually hold me off with a spine crawler and lings if scouted and go straight hydras mutas. u can do that since the toss player was committed to the rush which failed and u will most likely win the game
now whenever i didnt get scouted, i would easily run over to the base and own em.
key word here is: scouting :)
I just don't get the complaint. The roach control nerf just doesn't affect me at all.
This issue is that the Zerg nerf was too big several patches ago. It's just that people are just only now getting mad about it, that's all.

This particular quote doesn't seem to have anything to do with the other nerfs, though.Quote:

I wonder if there'd be fewer complaints after the marauder nerf.
2nd queen before lair, lings, spine crawler. /thread
2 of these things constrict you to defense and hurt your economy/tech. The good thing about roaches was that you could get them and feel safe about zealot rushes without doing either of those things, also opening up a tech path. The question is - was the previous situation better?
It doesn't really hurt your econ to play somewhat defensive early on. Getting a spine crawler = 1 drone. The lings aren't a whole lot since they're only made on a need-to-make basis. The 2nd queen is actually a good thing since you can spawn creep and use transfusion on your spine crawler and repel a zealot rush very effectively.
And the queen is not a gimick, it can attack zeals pretty nicely when supported by lings and a crawler.
Zergs are just too used to rushing roaches and winning... When it comes to diversify the tech tree, they're clueless...
The roach supply nerf is a good thing to teach US server zergs a lesson.
I am a zerg player, but I only jumped into the beta right after the supply nerf or Roaches. It was definately hard to win, rushes always trapped me. Now, I realise that going straight to hydralisks is a brilliant strategy. Skip them roaches.
I dont believe this, you get a lot less roaches now, being forced to make more overloads and using a larvae is pretty rough, the min for the overload is no problem with the cash flow, but production wise, i dont feel like i have an equal amount of roaches, in terms of cost effectiveness, when they come with stalkers from P or mara from T.
In the early game its like having 3 to 4 less roaches different an early fight and that is kinda huge, i've opt for some more sling now but its not always gonna work out, and its not like i have any other reasonable options at T1.
I feel that early rush, I have to play D with queens and spines... when it should be the other way around...
Who needs roaches anyways? Just mass queens/lings/crawlers and tech to infesters and brood lords.
