The digital download will be out a short time after retail (signs point to 1 week or so later) This is a common practice by many companies.
why would you preorder a digital download? i thought the purpose of preordering was to reserve a copy..
Are you looking to pre-load it, like a steam game? I don't think they're going to do anything like that...
You don't need to pre-order a download as it can be copied infinitely.
As mentioned by EvilGenius sometimes Steam will allow you to download nearly the entire program before release and then it is activated on the release date. You literally have it the second it's possible because the file is already on your PC. Blizzard however seems to be supporting the retail sector because as Gifted pointed out you will NOT be able to DL SCII for some period of time.
I would also like to point out that Steam doesn't carry Blizzard games.
Sorry if my post made it seem that it would be available through steam, Screwball is right, no blizzard games are currently available through steam, I was just pointing out that it is possible through services like steam to have a digital download ready at the earliest possible time.Quote:
