What the heck. I changed by build and threw down a gateway as soon as I saw his pool... but really? Watch the replay and tell me if there was ANYTHING I could do here. Or do I just have to forsake my early econ and assume that they will always go 6 pool? That seems slightly ridiculous if by the time I scout after 9-pylon I have already lost if I don't go 10-gate.
(BTW he was gold and I'm bronze, but still....)
Your probe production stopped, your probes stopped attacking at some point.
Might want to look into that.

Well first things first, when your probe was in his base and his zlings popped out, notice how they chased that probe? next time let them, lead em around as long as they follow. You wanna delay them as long as you can. Secondly that map is plain imba anyway, the bases are too close together for a 2 player map. Next time just let your probes attack, don't micro them it won't help the only micro you can do is mine the minerals so they stack, hit attack and then they will instantly surround the zling(in bw they would've screwed up the ai and such.. i miss that mechanic).
Edit: yes.. zlings are very weak it was very possible your probes could've killed them.
Edit2: FYI, next time don't leave, 6 pool hurts his expo lots and you had enough minerals to make more probes. Odds are that zerg was rushing because he was a newbie and couldn't play a real game if his life depended on it. Never give up.

I get 6 pooled all the time, and a lot of times thats with me going 11 or 12 gate.

Here's what I do
A-attack the ground in the area to surround the lings, generally the probes will take them out
Set rally for the gate to the mineral line so when that first lot pops out, he's in the battle helping
OR
Run probes around and get them to chase UNTIL the lot pops then attack with all and lot
You'll almost always win
Keep lots going till you can block the ramp with 2-3. You'll be back in the game, and his econ is genreally screwed cuz he'll follow up with another batch or 2 of lings to try and finish off what they started. It's good vs copper MAYBE, but nothing more.

The zling rush startegy you really gotta look out for is my favorite zling rush. I do 10pool before ovie, 2 gas at 13(after i get queen of course), keep making drones till like 18 then at 100 gas i pull drones off gas (get zling speed) and put on minerals and just simply pump zlings, if my attack seems hopless i just throw drones back on gas, make 6 more drones and tech to banelings or roaches. That strat will work all the way into plat.

Have been working on the standard 13 pool and im going pretty good atm..
But want to have some other strategies in my fingers ;)
I will have to try that. But it seem that in the past if I can hold off his 6 lings he will immediately follow up with another 12 and my zealots can't handle it. Maybe that's just cause I suck at blocking my choke, I need a zealot micro minigame where I can practice fending off lings with lots...Quote:

It happened to me, but i wasn't defeated by it. I have 1 Zealot by that time, and he and the Probes can take care of the Zerglings. You will lose some probes, but will be still in the game. Attack with all your Probes/Zealots, Chronoboost the Nexus and continue. If you can, let the Zealots be targetted first, then send the Probes.
I 9 Pylon and ALWAYS have a Zealot out before I'm hit. Sometimes 2. As long as you block your choke properly, you should be good. The 3rd unit you get should be a Sentry and just FF the buggers out.
im still getting my reaction time down, so till than, if i see an early pool, i usually would build a forge to help with my defense
1 cannon with a lot or 2 at the choke usually helps to keep the lings from coming in at all
now on short rush distance maps, thats a problem since he will be in before its done, so u just better wall off better and get good with probe attacks :)
I have a replay in which I defended myself from it with ease on 1vs1 map
on 2vs2 it's almost unstopable
This might be bad, but can't you throw up a second pylon up in the choke when you see them running across the map? And then either cancel it when the first zealot is done, or if they are going for the other pylon let it come up? you had the minerals for it, and if they kill it of before you can cancel it you loose a 100 M's but if that saves 2 probes I'm all in for it!?

when he almost got purged at the begining I gave him some mins 3 times, later when i got myself in to such situation i gave him gas in return for mins

In early-game PvZ you're not supposed to just "survive". You're supposed to harass the Zerg with your own Zealots. Zealots > Zerglings in SC2 when they clump up and don't get surrounded. That's why I open all my PvZs with 10-gate and even chrono boost some zealots. It's enough to catch most players off guard and screw with their build. You can even catch some rushes heading your way.
