Have you used custom AIs or launchers? If so, replace it with the original mod files.
I got the same problem, also the preview image is purple. (no third party programs or anything)
i deleted every starcraft 2 related stuff on my comp before install the beta so no clue what to do
Well.. how about posting on blizzard's forums asking their tech support?
would i be able to redownload the beta from battle.net if i unistalled and deleted everything sc2 related and try again?

LOTS of people experience this same problem.....
Hm, but I don't really want to alter those files..... it shouldn't be "that" hard for blizzard to just fix it???
Of course, it just takes a while to redownload the beta... sure you don't still have the installer? I left mine in my documents just in case of something like this
Did you try to reinstall?
If you look at my link, it actaully got nothing to do with reinstalling. It's a patching issue where you may not use certian letters like "ä" in the link.
ex:
C:\Documents and Settings\Example\Lokala inställningar\Application Data\Blizzard Entertainment
that does not seem to be the problem, mine goes : C:\Program\StarCraft II Beta
C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Mina dokument\StarCraft II Beta
Edited the title. Try to be a bit more specific in your thread titles. If there's a problem, try to describe it shortly.
The starcraft II beta map is where all your replays, maps and such is. But you have another cache map at the hidden map "lokala inställningar" inside that map find application data then there is a map called blizzard entertainment. But appearntly you had to go through some register changes to fix that. And I will just wait for blizzard to fix the bug.
