StarCraft Thesaurus
Always wondered why people talk about large diamond engraved
neckalces and europeean mountain ranges when they talk strategy?
Me too, thus I want to pile up a thesaurus for those who wonder
what these strange words seemingly out of context mean.

Help me fill in things I have missed or defined wrong. Will add by editing to keep it all in one place.

GENERAL

AC = Allied Control

AOE = area of effect

APM = actions per minute

Cheesing = Risky unconventional strategy designed to take your opponent by surprise.
Mostly in the form of early rushes where you build in or around your opponents base.

Choke = Choke-point.
A narrow area of the map where ground units are forced to pack together resulting in less combat power.

Corn = High Yield Minerals

Expansion = a resource node other than the main, can also be called Expo for short.

FE = Fast Expand

gg = Good Game
Polite ending of a game. Usually said first by the losing player(s).

glhf = Good Luck, Have Fun
Polite start of a game.

Gold Expansion = an expo with high-yield (yellow) minerals

Hard [unit] = a player building lots of one unit.
examples: hard ground, hard air, hard robo, hard M&M, hard zergling, ect...

Main = Starting Base of any player.

Natural = Closest and most ideal expansion

Resource Node = a location containing minerals and gas

Turtling = Defensive strategy.
A strategy where you create a defensive shell around your base, effectivly making the enemy suffer major losses, opening his base for an attack.
The turtler usually has a small yet mobile army to poke the opponent now and then.

TERRAN

BC = Battlecrucier.
Unit made in Starport.

CC = Command Center

Heavy Metal = |,,| Large force of Thors and Siege Tanks |,,|

Mech = Combination of Hellions, Tanks and Thors.

MGM = Marauder, Ghost, Medivac
A type of strategy where you focus on Marines Ghosts and Medevacs usually done against Protoss.

MMM = Marines, Marauders and Medevacs.
A type of strategy where you focus on Marines, Marauders and Medevacs.

Nuke-Calldown = Tactical Nuclear Strike.

OCC = Orbital Command Center

PF = Planetary Fortress

Port = Starport.
Building for Air units. Containing Viking, Medevac, Banshee, Raven and Battlecrucier.

Rax = Barracks.
Basic unit building with infantry. Containing Marine, Marauder, Reaper and Ghost.

ThorShip = Thor on Medevac

PROTOSS

Blinkers = Stalkers with blink upgrade.

CB = Chrono Boost

Chargelot = Zealot with charge upgrade

DT = Dark Templar.
Unit created in Gateway / Warpgate

Gate = Gateway
Basic unit building with infantry. Contains Zealot, Stalker, High Templar and Dark Templar.

HT = High Templar.
Unit created in Gateway / Warpgate,

Storm = Psionic Storm
Cast by Protoss Templars,

VR = Void Ray
Unit created in Stargate.

ZERG

Adrenaling = Zergling with only adrenal gland upgrade.

Bling = Baneling.

Crackling = Zergling with Adrenal gland and speed upgrade.

Hedgelings = Banelings with the speed upgrade

SL = Spawn Larva

Speedling = Zergling with only speed upgrade.

nPool = Spawning pool construction.
Where n is number of supplies before construction starts. Usually between 6-8

Chargelot - zealot with charge upgrade
Gate - Gateway
Crackling - zergling with adrenal gland

I know, I used that one to figure out cheesing. Still its missing a few that I wish to add here to this list. Like... Bling... well... I just realised its baneling, but still.

CB = Chronoboost
SL = Spawn Larva
CC = Command Center
OCC = Orbital Command Center
PF = Planetary Fortress

MGM = Marauder Ghost Medivac combo popular in TvP.
Blinkers = Those things you kill Broodlords with.

Not huge yet, but they're taking off. :)
