They should just scrap the Corruptor or give it the fungal growth ability.
Scrap everything, lets just bring back all the old units from SC, because they just cant find new ways to improve the game, or find their balls if that matter. Their top was the warp-in mechanic, after that their brains got fried.
As far as corruptors being a hard counter I don't think this is the case at all. Just from my initial testing it appears that corruptors vs phoenix comes out fairly even depending on the micro. It's a counter, but not a hard one.
But that really misses the real gravity of this change. What makes it a problem is flyby overlord harassment. Phoenix comes out quite a bit before a spire will. So this really turns into how many hydralisks can you make, and are they really a very effective defense against the harassment?

The overall DPS may be the same, but you cant cancel shot anymore. They also no longer kill hydras in 2 shots.
Notable differences that somebody on TL posted:
"Colossus will no longer 2-shot hydras unless they have +3 weapons and hydras have 0 armor (highly unlikely).
Colossus will only 1-shot zerglings if they have +2 weapons and zerglings have 0 or 1 armor.
Colossus will take 6 shots to kill a roach at 0/0/0 and 0/0 upgrades for both (pretty big change from pre-patch where colossi would kill a roach in 4 hits at 0/0/0 and 0/0)."
I'm willing to say that the Corruptor change is one of the worst decisions Blizzard has ever made regarding Starcraft. The Corruptor's ability was fine as is, and I don't even care if the "new" ability is more effective than the old; it's so unoriginal and uninspired that I almost shudder to think that they want the Zerg to be a completely homogenized race. Granted, the old Corruption was basically a Disruption Web, but I still think the change is really lame.
Everything that they've changed with Terran and Protoss in this patch is actually pretty awesome--with the exception of the Thor ability, that is--so it makes me sad that the Zerg are just becoming more and more boring to play.
Yeah, but the attack speed has increased. Those 6 shots against the roaches will be fired off at the exact same time as the pre-patch 4-shot against roaches.
I'm thinking the increase in attack speed and decrease in attack damage the Collosus got was not to increase/decrease it's functional effectiveness, but to give the opposing army an opportunity to micro without taking as much damage as before.... or maybe I'm completely off. Thoughts?
