I had an idea to make a starcraft legacy livestream channel similar to the 1 we have, but for the community to use.
The way it would work is you would just ask me and times you will go on, and whoever wants to can stream.
Any1 like this idea?

Having a constant stream would be cool. There'd be at least one person playing at any one time. Whenever I come to scl, the observer is offline... of course, the times are different here in Aus.

Soo, everyone shares the same user/pwd for the stream, and only1 person can be logged on at a time I presume?
That could work... People who are streaming need to have a basic rig though.
I have a 64x2 4400+ with 6GB and a GTX260 c216 with 10MBps cable connection, and I still had trouble livestreaming on 16:9 aspect with Normal quality...
I presume someone with a better connection and maybe a minimum triple core or quad core could handle this better. BUt I'm not sure...
I mean we have a entire section of the site for user streams...why do we need a stream for everyone to share when you can just make your own? lol
The Legacy observer works because its only staff, and usally has commentary - but random user streams wont be a consistent experience for its viewers. If you wan't to make your own stream i think it could catch on with decent commentary.
Ultimately it will require structure and moderation. I'm setting up a concept and will get back to you to get it working well. I need to confirm approval for it as well. It will involve a basic "application" of sorts. It may be as simple as "I am interested in streaming" but it would involve a slight discussion with people involved. For now, if you are SERIOUSLY interested in streaming on this channel and feel that you contribute to the community, please send me a PM regarding this.

Gifted, if you're going to even remotely associate said stream with SClegacy, (like SCLegacy Community Stream) you have to be careful that somebody with the user/pass doesn't decide to do something ridiculous with said stream, because it'll end up reflecting badly on SCLegacy. You'll need some kind of Stream Nuker™ incase of an emergency :)

@dingdongs: Don't worry, that's part of the reason why I'm saying "Hey! I'm doing it" instead of just saying "have fun". Livestream has the ability to have owners and producers. I will have ownership of it to prevent some of the major issues. I will also have to directly approve people who stream, etc.
If the original mentality was "Anyone from SCL could stream" then ultimately they could do their own streams. This would be a more or less "open range" of streamers that would be a bit more respected.
