Is it just something about the Korhal tileset, that it doesn't work? Because the river thing worked on the Bel'Shir set, now on the Korhal set it does the square water tile thing again.
Hm, guess the editor just doesn't like me yet. Ah well, I'm figuring it out slowly. Still, a LOT for confusing then I expected. I mean, StarEdit was complicated and there was a lot you could do with it, but it wasn't confusing...
EDIT - new question. How do I preview the map without having to launch the beta? I just want to see how the weather effects look.
Ok does anybody know how to have players slots in the lobby correspond to what player they are in the game? Whoever joins my map always spawns on my team, no matter what slot he's in, because the game sees him as "player 2". I've messed around with Game Variants and start locations all day - nothing.
I'm not making a melee map. And that wouldn't help anyway since my problem is that the game lobby sorts people into the wrong player slots in-game.
Try looking into the Player Properties > Team Placement(basics) and see if you've checked the alliance there. It seems to allow the setting of allies, while Team Placement (advanced) sets the enemies and where we can create teams or group of players.

Though I have everything supposedly set to their proper enemy links, in the lobby the player is primarily shown as part of my team as well, and I have to drag and drop the player to the other team. This must be a bug.
Ohhh,. I get your problem now Gradius. As GNA said its the old "you have to drag-and-drop into the other team for custom games" crap. So gay.
my question is: why does my game lobby say its a custom game when my map status in the editor says melee? it does the same problem and the player 2 is on my team in the lobby. i have to drag them into the other slot. also i cannot make the game public because it says the option is disabled for custom games. HOW DO I GET THIS MELEE MAP TO WORK!? i see tons of other melee maps out there made by other people and i see new ones everyday.

So you can rotate units side to side and move them up and down, but how do you rotate up and down? I forgot.

What's the deal with some units that are placed but nothing comes out. I kept on placing Armory Banshee but I don't see it on the map..
I think it has something to do with it being a storymode unit, which has too many polygons to run properly in a game situation
how do I add a custom image to my map for the loading screen. I have located where i need to upload the image but have been unable to find the Assets/folder location on where the editor is sourcing its images from.
ok ive saved it. But i still dont get what you are saying. What i did what click Map>Map loading screen>Browse image and then i get to the point where Im stuck. Am I in the wrong section, because there is no button to import image (sourcing my image from my pictures) only export images from the archive.
Also Maul I am a fan of your turret defence map, probally one of 2 playable and worthwhile custom turret defence maps that is balanced and fun.
Is the image a .tga or .dds file? They're the only two file types that can be used as loading screens unfortunately.

this is not the issue about the filetype now that i know this, i have photoshop and can convert any thing I want. The problem is i dont know how to import my photo's. What buttons do i push and where can I find it cause i have no idea in this stupid editor it tells me "loading screen, browse and doesnt even give me a freaking import option". GRRRRR :mad:
Oh haha have you tried using the import manager? It can be brought up by F9 or it's under the modules menu. Press Ctrl+I and select your photo locally, then save your map. Once that's done you can go into the map properties screen which you've found and browse for your file, which should now appear.
Sweet, got my image up and running which isnt really that well designed but now i know how to do this. I can update it later :). Snizzly. You know a bundle load maul its scary the calibre of knowledge you got.
So i ask you this question to test your skills. Do you know how to add music into the game? or replace the default starcraft music. I want to change it to \this for laughs and do a adults only map after. Ill give you a tactical clue the gold patch in between the girls legs.
Oh and if you got problems with sex i pity you, and why you playing a game rated M in the first place :P
Alright, add your music file the same way using the import manager then fire up the data editor. Change the date type to sound, then press Ctrl+= to make a new object. Name it Rhythm Of Love or something else and hit suggest for the ID. Change based on to MUSIC, leave the race as (none) and leave it as Set to Parent.
Then in the values look for Sound Assets - File and add your imported file. It may say something different depending on what view you have it set on.
Now open up the trigger editor and you'll need to use 2 triggers. Sound - Pause Soundtrack to stop the music and Sound - Play Sound to play your sound. Change the Sound Link as your imported file and viola, the song will play whenever your trigger tells it to.
You can also add it to the playlist but this way is a bit simpler.
hey more questionz, Im trying to use a money bundle in a custom map. Ive made a region for it. Basicly I want if any unit enters the area to pick up 1 mineral. (only once not to be repeated)
Ive written in the triggers what i thaught was correct but it didnt work. I didnt add any conditions because the event i would assume acts like the condition since is imputed.
Events- Unit (triggering unit enters region money 1)
Actions- modify player triggering player add minerals 1
general wait 3 real time seconds
trigger turn (current trigger) off.
So do you want every unit to get 1 mineral once when entering the region or 1 unit ever to get the 1 mineral when entering the region?
just one, ie- 1 guy walks onto the money bundle. he recives 1 mineral the bundle dissapears and only the person who got the mineral gets the resource.
ie- so just 1 player gets the mineral
