Don't know if this has already been said but you can use SC2Switcher.exe to be able to get past the Launcher.

I too am experiencing this problem. -grumble-
I'm having the same infinite loop effect.
Yep, I got hit with this bug as well. Using SC2Switcher.exe made my game so crazy. I guess the patch didn't install correctly. I hope I don't have to reinstall the beta :(
my tracker halts around like 5%
i got the patch installed, but it kept in the infinate loop people are talking about
so i tried starting the system via the switcher.
this worked but the servers are down for maintenance.
when i tried to exit the program i tweeked out and popped the
"battle.net may be temporarily unavailable or your internet may be down. please check your connection and try again" message several time all around my screen before finally calming down.
once it calms down i can close it without any problems
Hermdog...are you the person I'm thinking of? Did you play a Gnome DK/warrior on Nathrezim and Scilla?
Robotronic... nah i play orc protwar on dunemaul
I get tracker is not responding
I got the infinite loop issue as well. I started the game up fine with the switcher thing, but it told me the servers weren't up yet so I just exited.
The servers aren't actually up, right?
nope, servers are still down
blizz said that if you have the looping issue, do NOT reinstall the beta; it won't do anything.
just thought i'd save you guys the trouble. you can check the tech support forum if you want.
Yes, I know. I read that. My worry isn't that reinstalling won't help the problem. My worry is that my installation is screwed and that I'll have to reinstall the game once the patch is fixed. At the moment, my game is screwy.
I know everyone is getting it but everyone else also had installation problems. Battle.net's been down before and I've started the game with Battle.net blocked and I never had anything like that.
It's not an installation problem. It's a patcher bug after the installation. Everything installed fine its just the patcher that is messed up.
If it's just the patcher then why is my log-in screen and map editor screwy?
Either way, I just remembered that, as I understand it, StarCraft 2 keeps backups in your root folder so I'm not too worried.
the log in screen has always been screwy when battle.net is down. And the map editor just seems buggy as hell.
Bummer...not working for me either.
Did they find a fix yet?
apparently, rumor says, itll be fixed when the finish maintenance?
Patch update in place - loop problem is fixed, b.net is still down however
To wait, or go to bed... THAT is the question.
Great, version corrupted... Here goes the third time downloading it...
(first the leaked, second the bugged launcher, third the (hopefully) working)
I just got on Bnet now.
If the patcher is still glitching for you guys, this guy made a mirror. It worked for me.

Patch went through fine.
Does anyone get this ?
-The patch "base\Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod\Base.SC2Data\TriggerLibs \MeleeAI.galaxy" could not be applied. (Invalid source file size: expected 49197, actual 49547.) If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (BNUpdate::PTCApply) -
It's right before the patch is applied and boom this comes out...
Can anybody else not connect? I'm on the Technical Support forums and a few other people seem to be having the same issue; one of the greater issues, however, is that if this is your first time logging in to the game, you cannot create a name, and thus cannot actually *post* on the Technical Support forums \=/
So for me the patcher issue seems to be fixed. However, it still claims that battle.net is down, and I still get the screwy stuff with the messages popping up over and over.

Didn't work for me. I can't even update now.
First time poster here.. I haven't been able to log in either since the patch yesterday. I've been getting a message saying that either battle.net or my internet is down. This is frustrating since others are able to sign in.
At least the damn thing gets to the screen for you and works :D My takes forever to get there then either crashes or takes forever to confirm my username.
After doing some googling on the problem where the game just says battle.net or your internet is down, it is a user specific problem. My friend just logged into his game on my machine without a problem.
Like someone else mentioned earlier, problem is that people who have this problem do not have a username so they can't even post it on the beta tech support forum.
I know that this is only beta but nonetheless, it is annoying.
