Why not give the Carrier a weakened planet-cracker?
A planet-cracker style weapon beamed directly underneath dealing 20 dps or so for five seconds. It stacks with other beams.
Mana cost 100, maybe 125 or even 150 if balance calls for it.
As we have seen, the Carrier is extremely underused. This ability would give a carrier the option to wipe out a mineral line, deal 1200 damage to a single building in 5 seconds or deal mobile AoE on the battlefield.
It fits with the lore and it would be cool and useful.
Of course, I can already hear the screams of "overlap" "collossus" and "psi storm"! This is all true. It's just an idea, but we need something to beef up the Carrier.

How about something like the beam from the First Contact cinematic? Could have it pierce through multiple air units if they're lined up.

I don't use the Carrier because it's so ugly. :D
Protoss certainly could use something to beef up their air power a bit, though, I agree.

You mean like a kind of Hellion attack, but air-only, higher in damage and activated through energy? Sounds cool. It would be hard to micro though with carriers being pretty slow, so it should have high damage in bursts to make it effective.

I would prefer that the Phoenix gets buffed instead of this. The Carrier is pretty powerful already, even if it looks like a mess of twisted wires.

First thing i will do about the Carrier is to look for a mod to show it as the Project Revolution model.

That's why they invented the Yamato cannon-precision clean and still powerfull explosion that can be used both vs ground and in space combat-the yamato uses intense magnetic field that forces nuclear detonation(according to lore)...BUT i still don't understand how a powerful weapon like that will kill a single zergling and not hurt the other 1 feet away :),that why it requires splash damage...
As for the Carrier,Hmm,considering they have 8 range and super fast fleet of interceptors,i don't think aditional damage will fit in...

Is has splash damage. But no one is dumb enough to shoot Lings with Yamato :D
