Re: A bit of Blue on Add-ons
I guess it doesn't pay off stealing them, since the oponent can just salvage them. :)
Re: A bit of Blue on Add-ons
I thought one of the main points of the new add-ons was to switch your own buildings around.

Of the new add-ons, yes. In the original, about the only real reason was to steal someone else's or to use your main building for something else.
Re: A bit of Blue on Add-ons
Hmm, so the Add-on would appear in the other player's team color or just remain the same, but the other player can access said Add-On's features still?

Re: A bit of Blue on Add-ons
I think it currently works something like this:
Player 1 has a Barracks with Reactor attached where as Player 2 is attacking. Player 2 destroys the Barracks and the Reactor is now disconnected but still owned by Player 1. Player 2 moves in his own Barracks and connects it with the Reactor. The Reactor is now owned by Player 2. Player 2 lifts-off his Barracks, leaving the Reactor to be disconnected but still remaining in Player 2's control. Player 2 sells the Reactor for profit.
Re: A bit of Blue on Add-ons
Actually, i think that only add-ons with connected buildings should be Salvageable. If there's no building attached it should be neutral.
Re: A bit of Blue on Add-ons
Actually the only add-on i used to steal was the nuclear strike one and it was as likely as infesting a cc.
Currently there is only 2 addons and both can be build by any of 3 different buildings so i find stealing add-ons useless. Unless you are in a limited unit / resources battle.
Re: A bit of Blue on Add-ons
If there's no buildings attached it should remain neutral. If it still remains in player control then he gets vision to everything around it.
Re: A bit of Blue on Add-ons
Perhaps but if I remember correctly, add-ons don't change team color to gray (neutral) every time the player switches between structures. Therefore, it means they remain in their previous owner's possession.
Re: A bit of Blue on Add-ons
With the salvage system in place, I think the add-ons should work no differently than in SC/BW, aside from players being able to salvage the add-on prior to the main building's destruction. If the main building is destroyed, it should remain an enemy building until/unless it gets taken over by another Terran building.
