I hate, that i don't win every match.

Yes. Otherwise 8 Phoenix could kill 8 Hydralisks and not take a single point of damage. This isn't a crowd control spell. It's meant to allow Phoenix to attack ground units. Sure it can double as crowd control, but that's not it's main purpose.

The ability is micro intensive already, and save for floating a Siege Tank, some spellcaster, or an Immortal, i cannot think about any other unit that is worth to disable.
Between two phoenix with full energy, you can disable and kill 8 units. You can disable a lot of units with this ability. Micro intensive? Fairly. But no less useful. The key is to use them to keep your opponent off-balance and take advantage of their speed. Or take advantage of your opponents' lack of AA.
Or hell, just force him to make more marines. Then tech up to Colossi/Psi Storm.

It also means that the cost of using Graviton Beam is suiciding a Phoenix, if there is AA there.
No it doesn't. The unit it's AGing can't attack it. If he has static defenses, don't use AG near the static defenses.

Uh... not really. Vikings beat Corruptors for cost. And Corruptors do absolutely pitiful damage.

Uh? phoenix costs 150/100 i don't think that's cheap at all...maybe that's the only weak spot of the phoenix it's high cost...
Re: Confession time! What's the one thing you hate most about SC2?
IMO if the phoenix would be changed to deal burst damage with slow attack speed
(~same dps), they would be better at graviton beam snipes as long as you have enough of them to 1 shot the target, also they would be better vs mutas as they could preform hit and runs with thier small range and high speed.
tell me what you think.
Re: Confession time! What's the one thing you hate most about SC2?
I hate all the whining about patches before enough time has passed for any of us to truly say we've tested the new conditions thoroughly. This is not to say the arguments are wrong, simply misguided or, more likely, targetting the wrong problem. Example:
Hydra comparison SC1 to SC2 (All stats from the wiki)
Sc1:
Tier 1.5 (note: I delcare t1.5 those t1 units that need gas)
HP: 75
Cost: 1 sup, 75 min, 25 gas
Can have speed and range upgraded
atks 10g/10a
Speed: slow before upgrade, above average afterward (matches 1 upgrade lings, approximately, from own observation)
Sc2
Tier 2
HP: 80
Cost: 2 sup, 100 min, 50 gas
Can have range upgraded
atks 12g/12a
Speed: Molasses-like without creep, seems barely coeval with unupgraded SC1 speed, perhaps a shade slower. With creep is way less than SC1 upgraded version.
Also seems to fire a little faster than SC1 counterpart.
So, 3 things differentiate SC2 from SC1: Tier 2, 2 sup, and awful slow speed. The 2 sup is logical, to an extent, as the beasty requires 2 transport spaces. One could argue that the 2 should be consistent. Doesn't mean such an approach is correct, however.
The point is to first show that except for speed, sup, and location on the tech tree, hydra should be better in sc2. Why isn't it? Let's do a comparison of Psi-storm, the bane of many units, and see what that reveals:
SC1: 16 dmg/second for 7 seconds = 112 damage within AoE of approx. 2.
SC2: 20 dmg/second for 4 seconds = 80 damage within AoE of 1.5.
The total damage here is misleading. If we nerf sc1 psi-storm to 4 seconds, the damage becomes 64 instead of 112, which confirms that sc2 psi-storm is stronger than its sc1 counterpart.
The difference is 16 damage. Stacking 4 storms yields 64 extra danage in SC2, which is the equivalent of an extra sc1 psi storm!!!.
Conclusion: Hydras are too slow and psi-storm is too strong per second. The hydra HP is not the problem, it's the spped as has been bemoaned since the beta started.
Fixes: Buff base Hydra movement speed, restore the speed upgrade (either or; both not necessary, but would be appreciated), and move back to Tier 1.5.
Fixes on psi-storm would need to be evaluated based on damage actually taken. Since we have already fixed the hydra, the psi-storm differential is nullifed by the hydras' newfound ability to escape. Let's say, for example, New figures: 50 psi storm damage in 2.5 seconds in sc2 versus 40 damage in SC1. This is tolerable, so no fixes for psi-storm after hydra speed is retooled. :)
Re: Confession time! What's the one thing you hate most about SC2?
Out of curiosity, has anyone investigated the potential effectiveness of Phoenix harrassment? Would flying Phoenixes into an enemy base and have a few use Graviton on the Queen (if Zerg) or workers while the others shoot them down work (this second part wouldn't need micro since X Phoenixes will always take down Y units in 10 seconds)? Then, when enemy forces arrive, fly off and raid another base. Theoretically, I think this has potential since it's essentially shooting fish in a barrel since the workers/Queen can't escape.
Re: Confession time! What's the one thing you hate most about SC2?
I'm not finding it too terribly fun to play, and having spent the better part of the last 3 years following the game I feel somewhat let down now that I'm actually in the beta.
The map variety so far has been disappointing. I'm not referring to the stunning work done on the tilesets themselves, but rather the layout and fact that just about every map has one default choke into the base. I'd like to see much more variety, with things like an asymmetrical layout, more open environment, lots of cliffs for ambushes, or my biggest hope being randomized map layouts (a pipe dream, I'm sure).
Also as others have stated the Zerg are very unimpressive in terms of variety and strategies.
Re: Confession time! What's the one thing you hate most about SC2?
The fact that I don't know if there's going to be much variety in the game or not.
They haven't released more than 6 tilesets or so and a few campaign models and I'm just not sure if it's going to measure up to WC3.
It probably will, they just don't want to spoil it.
Other than that, I think Zerg lacks variety.
