Jesus christ, no matter how noob, I can't beat a terran race. My worst win ratio. It's like a guranteed loss. If they turtle with turrets and whatnot and I have no way of nydus in their base. They just mass up and beat me. All they need to do is harass with banshees cloak and vikings to keep me from coming at their base with a large enough force. It's ridiculous!
It really depends on the map for me. Kulas Ravine is pretty much a guaranteed loss for the Zerg, unless the Terran does something monumentally stupid. The narrow corridors at every turn make Zerglings (the only effective Zerg weapon against Marauders) utterly ineffective. Combine that with the fact that the Terran gets basically a free expansion, while the Zerg has to adequately defend both of theirs, and the Zerg really have no chance on this map.
Whereas a map like Blistering Sands, with a short rush distance, adequate opportunities to scout, much more maneuvering chances, a more difficult to defend third, and a nice breakable back-door, gives the Zerg ample opportunities to win.
Desert Oasis, as always, is basically a different game.
moosh - if a Terran turtles, here are a couple of reactions from me:
1) Overlord Drop. I think a lot of Zergs forget we can do this :p. Depending on how many turrets the T has been putting up, an Overlord drop is quite do-able.
2) Tech to Brood Lords :p. They're the only siege-ranged unit for Zerg :p. Ultralisks are horrible - don't get them :p. They are countered by Marauders and Thors, both of which a Terran should have in ample supply by the time you can even build an Ultralisk Cavern.
In both cases, you should try and take a third base if the Terran has 2 bases. Especially if you're going to get Brood Lords. Those things are 250 gas a pop!
How do you counter ravens though? Once played a terran who with a few ravens COMPLETELY decimated my broodlords within seconds. And it doesn't seem like I have a chance against late-game terran unless i get them.
I could talk about so many ways to counter them, but I'll leave it at one suggestion. Remember Corruptors have the Corruption ability. When you look at this as an asset, 4 corruptors can provide a massive advantage when you have to push on a terran base. 4 turrets corrupted can allow a massive success on a drop. Assaulting a planetary fortress? Watch it turn to nothing as you corrupt it and it doesn't attack back. Bunkers are also corruptable and if you make a good push, ensure that you corrupt starports or factories if you aren't worried about any turrets or bunkers nearby. Removing their reinforcements can be the difference of 2 thors or 2 ravens poping in later than expected.
Corruptors, Infestors? In a middle of the fight, if you manage to take control over Ravens, you can blow their own units apart with HSM. Corruptors are just A-click, and they will take the job of Ravens and Medivacs, if you have reasonable amount of them of course.Quote:

On a map like scrap station I don't even really bother going for their choke wall, its much more effective to just move your overlord to the back of the base and at the veryyyyy verryyy back of their base is the perfect spot to drop a worm and get some zerglings/roaches/hydras right into their SCVs, depriving them of their defensive advantage. Make sure you get the speed upgrade for your lings, it makes a huge diffrence.GLHF.

A few suggestions from me to you for fighting the evil Terran.
Try to fast expansion early and late pool. Make sure you do some scouting with a drone to make sure there is no early or proxy barracks. In most maps it is very easy to fast expand with minimal risk (Unless you are across from each other on a 4p map then you just hope he does not scout you out. Which is why we don't send the ovie.)
Late pool essentially means 12-16+ pool. Right after pool you get a hatchery. After the hatchery is built spend the rest of your minerals on drones/queens. The reason why I say queens is because they are good defense against early air cheese and because you should have 2. One for your expo and one for your main. Make sure to get a couple lings once your pool is done too, to defend your FE.
Once your FE is done you should maynard it a bit and build more drones. Get a spine crawler or two for any rush the terran might pull off. You should suicide an ovie just to check his base and see what he's going. Mass lings and banelings are quite effective against Terran early game. If you just mass lings you can make a transition to mutas. If not Hydras are always a good choice with infestors.
If the Terran goes MMM you should mass hydras and get infestors. Late game Ultralisks are a good choice against MMM. Brood lords are okay too but if you get Bro lords you force the Terran to get Vikings which really change up the game for you as he will have better mobility than you.
If the Terran goes early air cheese (we see this with the suicide ovie). Get more queens at your main and expo. Two queens can easily take down the same number ,if not more, of banshees in equal cost. Queens can also transfusion each other so you can transfusion the queen being focused (usually the one with the most energy).
If the Terran goes mech army (hellions, siege tanks, thors and marauders). You need to go hydras, roach and lings. It is essential that you upgrade missile attacks and armor all the while getting infestors for those pesky thors. Have infestors Neural parasite the thors and use the cannon on other thors or tanks. Roach are there to absorb damage while hydras actually deal damage. Lings should have some morphed into banelings and send them in a flank to destroy hellions he might still have.
Don't think I missed anything. If the Terran decides to fast expand to counter your fast expansion; just expand into another position. Preferably the high yield. (So you will have 3 expansions while he is holding two).
Generally when i fight T, its comes down to, does my baneling bust work or not? if you do it right, your banelings should bust open the wall in and your speedlings just run in, killing what is left of the army or running in the mineral line.
its very important to do this right and do it quick, i would 13 pool, 14 gas, upgrade speedling then build the baneling nest. and a 2nd gas. grp your banelines as 1 grp and yoru speedlings as another grp, send banelings in first followed by speedlings, you should generally win if your using 7 to 8 banelings and like 12+ speedlings.
