Why should they? I prefer it as is: they will spew creep when they stop. That way, I can tell them to spew before they get there, and I don't have to worry about hunting them down and turning them all on.
Also, if they're being shot, they can retreat.

You can have a unit that does little damage with a fast cooldown, or a lot of damage with slow cooldown. The thing is, if you do your damage up-front, and you have a range advantage, then you can kill one or more of the enemy's units before they can even fight back. So it's not as simple as comparing DPS to DPS, because the style of attacks matter.

They have a long cooldown. It's kinda like the Mutalisk. Except without the AoE.

No it shouldn't. That's not how the ability works. A generating creep overlord can still move. It just won't generate creep unless it's stationary.
It's a lot more useful for offensive creeping than if you had to activate the ability every time.

They have a hold position button. If it bothers you that much... use it. The delay is a second or two at absolute MOST.

I knew you were going to say that, but that actually doesn't work at all. Your ovies are still bumping into each other. Try to click an ovie that's 9/10 inside another ovie. You waste precious time positioning your ovies, while they're being shot down.
They need two options for the spread creep. Right click is auto cast which is what it is doing now, and left click so be stop what you are doing and start spreading.

Um, when you order a number of grouped Ravens to cast a spell, do they wait until they are stationary?
Better yet! If you move a flier against one of your Battlecruisers charging Yamato cannon, should the yamato cannon ability cancel out while the Battlecruiser gets nudged aside?
Oh! How about the Phoenix? Should it drop a unit it's using anti-gravity on when a void ray accidently rubs up against it?
Yeah, that's right! You're making zero sense! :D

No, because Generate Creep works differently. It's not a spell. It's a channeled ability that only works while the Overlord is STATIONARY. So if it's moving, it's not stationary. Then the ability won't be working.
Hunter Seeker Missile and Yamato Gun just work when you press the button. And then they're gone until you want to cast them again.
Honestly, I play Zerg all the time, and I use offensive Overlords in all of my games. I've NEVER noticed this to be a huge problem.

Channeled ability. Interrupting that would again, eat up 50 phoenix energy and require casting the ability again. Overlord's generate creep does not need to be cast!

Oh, wait, no I'm not. Seriously. If your yamato/hsm gets cancelled, your units are out 125 energy for nothing. If your generate creep gets 'cancelled' it'll take it... a second or two longer to spread to where it would have otherwise.

Or they could just make it so hold position works properly... rather than making it so complicated to use.

... that's not actually possible. Overlords stay where they are as long as they're not touching each other. So, if you spread them out, they will stay where they are. Unless your concept of "spread them out" doesn't actually involve spreading them out, I don't see how what you're talking about is possible.

i think i understand your position on this matter, and i wouldnt be opposed to such an addition.

actually, even with just that one "spread creep now" button, you'd still be able to do that; just hold shift and give queue the order after the moment order. jsut as you can tell some otehr unit to go to taht location dn then burrow, or do whatever really (almost whatever: http://sclegacy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3016)

Nevermind, you never understood my initial point and you never will. Your solution is ridiculously stupid. How would you solve my problem? Issue individual move orders to 8 overlords and hope they're spaced out enough?
Move 15 overlords in a group, when they stop try to select 15 individual overlords and try to move them so they're evenly spread out while enemy units are taking them down one at a time?
That's mundane gameplay, why not just remove the bunching up for overlords all together so they move in formation when creep spread is enabled? When they stop, they make creep. Simple, always reliable and none of this, my ovies have stopped.. okay wtf now they're just playing bumpers cars with each other.

Sorry, still don't get what you mean. If they deal 16 dmg, then wait the cooldown, and repeat, they're the same than any other unit.

Wank, stop using that word mundane, you're not using it right at all; least if we use it the way you are we can categorize alot of things in SC2 the same way, "Moving units individually or micro, is mundane."
I can see it obviously you want Overlords to be apart of an attacking force of Zerg, but there are multiple issues in that regard...it's a uncommon strat at best to include Overlords in an attack force EVEN if they had the changes you want.
The biggest issue is they cost food supply if killed, and lack true defenses to stay alive in a army vs army fight. Now if you want Overseers to have this creep drop move, then I can see more logic behind this, and the argument of how the game works with the creep drop.
In my opinion, the whole creep drop concept is there to act as a temporary fix until you have creep tumors up. They have weak points such as being attacked by AA and costing you food supply...so they really shouldn't be a common form of aggressive strategies.
I still don't even see where you want this topic to go...you're clearly out to change the way Zerg play...yet I personally love how it currently is...not to say I'm not open to changes, but clearly if you don't like the race fine...play another - yet if you want to play them...be more clear "why" you need such a change in the first place and if there is not another way to go about it...or even if it's needed to began with, yet with out causing future balance issues.
