Good question. Back in SC:BW, I used to keep a large group of Valkyries around just in case. They worked wonders in all kinds of anti-air situations. I think the recent patch giving the Thor's StA attack an AoE is a sign of the developers realizing this. There's nothing quite like a flying siege tank :D

So the Thor right now is a goliath and a valkirye into one. They really are putting effort into this unit.
