Re: I will not be buying SC2
Well protosswarrior.. After our games last night I went back to Toss again. I am starting to feel more comfortable with them after watching replays. Started playing the KRUMB today :-) Beat him 3-0. We have some more matches coming up tonight. I am starting to think i might have jumped the gun in saying this game was not for me. I think i still have a lot more to learn but it's growing on me.
Also I will respond to the other comments sometime tonight.
Here is another current replay :
Re: I will not be buying SC2
In response to some of the comments now that I have had some time to read through them:
I think that this game might not be for everyone. I am having alot more fun with it now that I am wining and losing some matches rather then getting aniliated at every game. I am trying to watch more replays every day to learn more about the aspects of this game that are preventing me from doing well in it.
I don't want to be some sort of pro player but i don't want to be a green horn either that loses all the time.
Should i just watch replay after replay after replay. Or should i just consistently play maybe watching my own replays from time to time to see what i could have done better?

All of the above. Replays will help you learn the knowledge (decision making) part of the game. Playing will help you learn the mechanical (clicking fast) part of the game. Watching your own replays is great for learning what you did wrong and what your enemy did right. More advanced commentary will help you learn specific match ups as well as help you enjoy and appreciate just how incredible of a game Starcraft is. I'd suggest day9 as a fun caster to start watching www.livestream.com/striderdoom as well as SCL's own crota http://www.youtube.com/user/BlizShou.../3/8jNBf8loTbY. But make sure you put time aside everyday to play. If it helps get a training partner. Starcraft is like any other sport. If you put the effot in you WILL get better.
And if your still wondering why we love this game so much...

Ya think?
Re: I will not be buying SC2
I started playing the game in a similar way, I had played SC1 extensively years ago so I thought I would just be super awesome off the bat, but I was fairly wrong.
I always enjoy going over replays I've lost because it gives me an opportunity to see what I could have done better. Did I tech too quickly/not pay attention to my resources/not expand/not scout?
If you did everything perfectly, out micro'd you opponent, and still lost, then I'd say something is a little too under/over powered, this is a Beta overall :). But I'm willing to bet there may be some area you could have improved on.

Ok look. Listen carefully to me, because I'm sincerly trying to relate to you and I'm trying to understand what you're feeling right now...
Please take a break from beta until the content patch comes out in April and play a few games then. After that, decide if you want to take a break until release and then play it seriously at release.
At release, we're going to have a HUGE pool of players to play with. Sure, there are plenty of guys that are better than you, but trust me when I say that you'll get to play even more players that are worse than you upon release.
You'll be able to play your placement games and hopefully be thrown into a lower league where you WILL have fun playing with players that are your skill level. If you want to honestly get better, you will keep playing and practice more and more and you'll have the opportunity to get bumped up into a higher league. By that point, you'll know if you enjoy playing the game at a faster pace at in a competitive sense. If you don't, then you can quit knowing that you at least played enough to make the 50 bucks worth it.
If you don't think that gameplan sounds good, then I think you should pass off your beta account to someone on these boards through a PM and go cold turkey, while someone that wants to play the game badly will have the chance to do so.
Re: I will not be buying SC2
No I am not going to give my key to someone. I have other games linked on the account. If anyone continues to go down that path i will report them to the mods. Most keys are attached to other games of blizzards.
Also If you had read some of the more recent posts I have decided to give it another try despite misgivings. I still think however that this game might not be for everyone. And this might be an apporpiate thread for people that feel that same way to express there concern about beta issues.

Whoa easy there buddy. No ones trying to take your beta key away:rolleyes:
Besides I dont think saying "give it to someone who will actually enjoy it" is a bannable offense...
Re: I will not be buying SC2
Yeah, but you have to agree that there's been a shitload of idiots here who are just going "GIMME ZE KEY" and it gets irritating...
Anways, Cadeus here HAS SAID THIS BEFORE: HE IS GOING TO GIVE THE GAME ANOTHER SHOT.

yeah, you said it lol. - love your DP!
