I've been a huge RP'er, however never in the SC Universe...
I've done the following
1. D&D (2nd ed - 3.5)
2. Star Wars Universe (way fun!)
3. Dabbled in Rifts
4. Used to watch some Vampire LARP at our local pub
Done through chat, forums, live in person, online games lol.
I'm showing my true geek side now I think.
SC RP sounds interesting, but my lore knowledge is the stink....
Gritten
Awsome! the two links in my desc are two SC RPs Me and my friend Shadow have going on, we would LOVE to see others participate.. Blessed Auir takes place during the Aeon of Strife and by the Gods is it FUN..
and I admit I am on my.. 5th game in D&D Pathfinder and 3.5 *blush* but its so much fun.. ohh Im soo happy you RP starwars too I've been Dying to do another!
I only ever played a couple of live action Star Wars RP based on....I think it was 3rd ed.
I did however play Star Wars Galaxies (the mmo by SOE) for about 5 years. The majority of my online time was spent in RP. I rarely deviated from character.
Hell I've got a stack of short stories I've written to back up game events so I could remember my own personal lore as things took place in game lol. That was the most fun I've had with RP.
DnD we had a good came going for about 2 years - same characters. Mostly a hack and slash group with 2 of us as hardcore RP'ers. Makes for an interesting group dynamic when you have a Half-orc carrying around the sorcerer in front of him as his own personal 'shield' and consder him to have fireball type karate chop action in the even of emergencies lol.
I DM'd a few games after moving to another city...but it's tough to find real life gamers. Especially when you hit 30 years old lmao
hehe thats so cool!.. I usually stick to text RPs.. but im getting into D&D.. got me a Halfing Ranger named Kasarah.. and a new character I just made yesterday.. a Half elf Rouge ^^
Interesting.
Personally I'd have done it the other way around lol. Half Elf Ranger, and a Hafling Rogue, but to each their own.
Half-Orc Rogue is the way to go. It's fun attempting to play a character who doesn't fit a roll via the race.
Half-Orc: Grog decide to sneak attack
DM: Ok Grog...roll your D20
Half-Orc: Grog rolls 20 for hide in shadows
DM: Ok roll again for move silently
Half-Orc: Grog roll 12
DM: Ok...well with your -7.....you move slowly towards the bandits in the dark alley....a loud thumping hammering off the ground as you lumber your way towards them. Startled they turn and look, yet see nothing...
Half-ORc: Grog sneaky!! Grog Sneaky!!
hahahha your right that would be funny as hell XD
My GF is into RP.
As such I've been forced to... dabble.
But its not high on my list of preferred activities.
heh well it is fun.. What else ya into?
haha Get some Action if you RP with your GF.. Same thing with my BF XD
I RP'd for a few years. I loved DM'ing and did so reguarly with 2 friends and 5 family members... good times. DND v3 all the way lol.
~LoA
use to do the gundam roleplay back when yahoo was average till it got weird in there.
Only a long, long time ago, back when things were a little more carefree. Now, none at all. Real life and all that stuff. They were good times, though.
I've done DnD (<3 Beguilers) and White Wolf: Oblivion. Part of a DnD campaign at the moment, though the DM isn't much of a DM.
I also like forum RPGs but often get too caught up in writing out my own stories, resulting in Walls of Text. That said, I've been looking for an online RP, like something sci-fi or medieval fantasy. >_>
You're a wall of text guy as well, huh? :P For me, finding an online RPG that is sci-fi or medieval is not a problem. Finding a good one that doesn't die, on the other hand, I have some troubles.
I agree. Most of the Rps I've participated in or observed online usually die after several pages. It's frustrating.
If anyone is interested.. I'd love to Do an RP of anythign at all.. be it Via PMs or IMs.. and its Great to see people interested ^^
Indeed, especially when you put so much time and effort into it. There were three RPs I've been in that lasted for a very, very long time. The one I really loved was based on Magic the Gathering yet ended up taking a life of its own. That one died I guess close to the half way point. The other two, the first started off as random nonsense and somehow spawned the second RP, which was a sequel. Both those two died right before the end, and every other sequel after that just eventually died off. Needless to say, I felt let down to see them fizzle the way they did. I still have artwork of the characters I made from those three RPGs. >>;
Yeah, that's the way they seem to go.
There were three RPs in recent memory that I was pretty attached to, the longest being StarCraft Aftermath back at Warboards.org - rest its soul. Me and another poster got along real well and conceived a good chunk of it... but then our characters merged into an Archon and my life took over, leaving him with an overpowered character that waged absolute destruction.
Ah, those were the days. =D
So... *ahem*... RP, huh? Any.... anyone interested?... >_>
You'll have to speak up a little bit, I didn't hear you. :DQuote:

Never done it but I have friends who do it- but they live to far away...
I put on my wizard robe and hat...
Residental D&D nut here. I'm a big time RPer. I've done the following RPs:
- Chat-based RPs (www.cyberchat-rp.com)
- Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Edition (Best D&D version.)
- (New) World of Darkness, using all of the following books:
- Vampire: The Requiem- StarCraft RPs both table top and chat-based
- Changeling: The Lost
- Werewolf: The Forsaken
- Mage
- Promethean
- Mutants and Masterminds
- Star Wars
- D20 Modern
- Naruto
I've DMed before in the following universes:
- Stargate SG-1
- Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Edition
I've been RPing for 7+ years so one could say that I'm an experienced/veteran RPer.
Sarov you and me have GOT to RP man.. Chat based of course (be it Vocals or just Text) Got MSN or Yahoo or Aim or Skype?
I've done my fair share of RPing over the years.
- Warhammer PnP
- Shadowrun PnP
- A few custom PnP games with various titles (currently still working to create one with a friend every now and then)
- World of Darkness - Only the vampire section though, haven't branched out much I really enjoy the vampire style campaigns
- Some Casual DnD, not a ton of the standard fare - But I've litsened in and herd tales of many games from various friends
- There was this site a long time ago it was like a search engine for role playing boards but it seemed to of disppeared or something, anyway I played some Gundam role play there - was fun!
- And I've done a few Naruto RP sites
- Currently buillding a bleach profile for this site
- And its sister site(not bleach based) link
Mostly though, RP on the internet is disappointing - but since ive moved from my original place of origin I have no one around to RP with nor do I wish to wonder off and find some haha
Sadly with all the games and novels pileing up, I don't think I'll have time to ever roleplay alot- even I only have so much free time lol
I prefer playing RP-like video games. As in, anything Bioware makes. Make my own story and choices, watch the consequences unfold.
And watch limbs fly.
Sure. Why not. I've been meaning to do an RP for a long time and now that I have the internet, I actually have the time to devote to an internet RP. Although I warn you I'm a para-RPer (well unless I have writer's block). For those that don't know, that means a "paragraph RPer" or simply put an RPer that uses many paragraphs instead of many sentences. Assuming you can handle that everything should be okay.
Also, added you to MSN. I look forward to RPing with you.
How have I missed this thread till now.
lets see I have played
D&D 1st 2nd and 3rd-3.5 edition
D20 Modern
Hellsing D20
Exalted
Warhammer Fatansy and 40K
I'll will add more as I think of them.
*dances* YES I am gonna be ohh so happy ^^
Hmm... Interesting topic. I recall someone (NamesAreUseless, I believe) attempting to start an RPG here some months ago. Unfortunately, kind of died off.
I don't RP, but anyone looking for some possibly long term RP in the SC universe may be interested in this thread at SC2armory, it's going at about a page a day, and has been for almost a month. Potential longevity.
I love SC rps honestly.. if anyone wants to I'm looking to Start a Big one.. with Canons and All!
Can't believe I missed this thread! Through a judicious use of PMs I've discovered that I used to RP with Gritten WAAAAY back in the early days of SWG! Woo-hoo!
You could call me an RPer, but I've never really done table-top d20 stuff (closest I've come is HeroScape, which is itself awesome of course).
My SC canon knowledge is pretty sparse, but I wouldn't be adverse to trying my hand at RPing. You make the place and I'm sure I'll show up!
Never know who you're gonna bump into on the SCL boards lmao.
It's funny how I find games to be the PERFECT forum for RP. Especially SWG. The interface, chat system, everything about it was almost as though they went 'lets make this rp friendly'
Though I don't play anymore - I do frequently visit the forums, and man they've added sooooo much stuff for the rp community. YOu can host full fledged events, and decorate the planet to your heard content. I'd love to sub for a month just to host a huge event.
But...I prolly don't know anyone there any more...so it'd be a pretty sad event lol.
:( <------*sad face*
I'm too young to know anything about this, but guess I can handle it jajaja
A long long time ago... (ROFL 8 years ago, before meeting RTS games):
I could build a full army of legos, K'nex, Magnetics, Bionicles, baloons... Basically anything I could shape into a deathly space dreadnough or tiny sabotage bug drone. Then I would play role kinda games/missions with my friends and brother. Of course, everyone had to build their own armies jaja.
Guess who won most of the times ^^
I just have a stupid amount of all this material, and many tools to weld and cut. Guess I just love it :P. When I'm back to my good old country, I'll just rise my armies once again just to show them off IMAO.
On my most notable creations there are:
-Real Size Star Wars battle droid that moves and says "roger roger" XD (The chips I used might be broken by now but I could still find a substitute for it. And I'm so proud that my dad made him use the sit belt ^^)
-A Battle Cruiser builded with over 9000 pieces (No lies, it took me eternity to build its armor and chasis so that my brother couldn't tose it and break it into 100s of pieces.) Else, I ended destroying it myself muahahaha.
-Two stories high tower (My mom banged her head against the wall when she found her camera was broken, and didn't managed to stop me from destoying my own 2 days of work jajaja)
-Highly detailed World War I tanks builded with the pieces of an AT-AT lego kit and Dinosaur Hunter's tank lego kit. (They faced oblivion during the battle with my friend's entire StarCraft lego force in the most epic war ever)
-Giant Dinasour Boss from Fox Adventure's builded with bionicles. This guy crushed the full airforce of my cousins and half of their standard bionicle's sets. Before being send down to hell by the toy shotgun XD (Funny part is that it didn't fired but was great at close combat ^^)
Hidden Content:
-Meteor Racetrack builded with all my hot wheels tracks and engines. Irony: hot wheel cars didn't worked with it XD So I used Meteor Cars similar in size and added butter to the racetrack so that cars would move faster (yo friction ^^).
Those were the most awesome days of my life. Still I'm still crazy, but have started working on real mecanics. As I have always created this things for my own satisfaction I never showed them to lots of people so I have close to zero pictures on most of them jaja. But I'll bring them back for all of you, word.
Yeah, no MMO has ever come close to how RP friendly SWG was/is. There was just nothing like it. I've jumped back in every now and then, just to see what's cooking. My last days included a set-up where I dropped 2 AT-ATs, a Lambda shuttle, and about 50 stormtroopers for an RP story. Man that was good.
Oh yeah, and I have had an RP-esque Lego game going on and off for the last fifteen years lol. I pick it up every now and then (right now, for instance, I'm doing the Pirate side of things with my wife.) So I am not entirely unfamiliar with the idea.
Hell yeah! My childhood right there. I even took it beyond that and made a set of wearable and useable armour, sword and sheild out of Knex. :pQuote:
