I have heard nothing but bad about factory units and I dont see why. maybe its because I cant use them for myself but I still think that factory units are alot more than support but if thants not the case I think blizz should fix it.

No, tanks assault mode really does way more damage than a Marauder. Marauder is a small bio unit so is easily countered splash. Tanks are large and won't get caught by AoE often. The only reason why people don't use tank mode is because of the SC1 mentality, nothing less. I've seen so many situations in replays that it would just have been better to leave them in tank mode but they always opt to siege.
There is even a DPS chart showing how far ahead Tank Mode's damage output is from the Maruader. Marauder's attack speed is slow, stim eats up 20 HP and required research and Medivacs are Tier 3. I prefer Marines and tanks over Marines and marauders. You can get Marines+Tanks and SCVs way faster than a fully functional M&M&M ball. And Tanks have the additional utility of siege mode. It's only good to have 2-3 tanks in seige mode because of their low DPS.
Now that the Factory is cheaper, you can tanks even earlier.
if you ask me the fact that siege tanks rock as tanks now kinda justifys the cost increase and the utility to become siege weapons at will. in tank mode they do bonus vs armor. in siege mode they do a high damage long range aoe attack. People may have to start seiging only some of thier tanks. That and tanks are pretty beefy units. A mech build pretty much counters templars and archons. and the zerg ground forces are dangerously weak to combined hellion and tank fire. that and the decrease in price of the factory and techlab makes it ideal to invest in some factories. It dose require a good econ though but some upgrades and the availibility of Scvs will justify the cost. More people need to try the mech units and get a feel for them. 5 factories sounds a bit excessive thhough but I've seen people use six rax and to be honest I dont see the point of using that many rax especially with the reactor core. best part is the terrans can swap tech quite easily to adapt to the enemies build. all they have to do is swap tech labs and reactors. Immortals killing your tanks. just move some buildings around and you can be pumping M&M in no time.
Well it's good to believe in something, although is not true...First of all i don't think anyone will go archons and templars instead of robo vs terran but hey if you say so...Second In Tank mode they have measily 15 damage vs zealots, and with charge it's pretty much gg for tanks,On the other hand immortals kill tanks in 3 shots and while in mobile form they have 7 range so easily focused fire,And last the collosi with 9 range both more range than tank mode and huge dps...The only thing that can save you is few sieged ones behind your marines and marauders focusing the collosi from 13 range, while the immortals are being cut to shreds by your steamed infantry, and a few ghosts can turn the tide even more...So the question from the first page why doesn't anyone use mech? Well everybody uses mech but NOT pure mech because that's a loosing strategy....If even blizzard realises this why are you two arguing that it's better?
Who said anything about tanks being alone? Hellion or Marines are there to protect tanks from Zealots and Zerglings while the tank give support fire. Arthas stop telling people they are wrong and you are right. I have seen many unorthodox plays that have been winning. I have been seeing less M&M in Terran games than there used to be.
I'm not saying i'm right,i am saying that is more effective both cost and dps to have marauders instead of mobile tank form...and believe me if you are going factory you will be to busy focusing on factory upgrades, and you will not have both stim, combat shield and medivacs,so those marines will not be effective at all,and a few immortals and collosi will make short work of your 'great' build army...
The comp I've been using lately is: Marines, Hellions, and Tanks (Z), and Marauders, Hellions, and Tanks against (P, T) both with Medivacs/SCVs in support. It seems to work alright, especially if I keep up harassment with a few Reapers/Banshees to make them turtle up. Of course, so far my games have been won through drops and not straight out fights.
Im not sure how the rescorces work in the game but im pretty sure you can invest in a few upgrades for marines to counter immortals. Even if you dont. Immortals have their weaknesses. If you see a toss going for mass immortals then get a few banshees or upgraded marines or out manuver them. Rdragon is right you dont always have to kill their army to win. also Siege tanks can stand thier own against collosi, not to mention that Vikings are part of my proposed mech build.
my gameplay is that banshees thors and marines pwn all but thors are great, there not good if you have like 2 but if you have 6 your unstopable
I was able to almost win with a mech build against zerg! I'll post the replay soon enough. The game was so unorthodox. The zerg didn't know what to do. He even made ultralisk and that's the first time I ever see anyone build ultralisk. It was pretty interesting. Unfortunately I lost because we both destroyed each others base but he had an island expo and I didn't have any air or mineral to get there.
