EDIT: Bah, if he's constantly going back and forth with this, I think he's bluffing just to rub it in our noses. He doesn't really have an invite to give away. He's looking for a way out not to give the beta key away, because then he will look stupid in front of us all if he doesn't have a key.
I'd say he's just waiting for some poor sucker to come along that's ignorant of the TOS and is willing to pay a ridiculous amount for something that'll only be good another two months or so.
