More like Blizzard has teased us so much with beta that it's withdrawal effects while lucky guys are playing it is devastating.

Considering what Blizzard wants to do, i expect A LOT of people in the beta. At the moment they popped in a small amount of opt-ins, otherwise they got the press in. Followed by getting the Blizzcon winners now slowly trickling in. Now what does that say? If correct you get thhe invites to the blizzcon'ers and then you start tramping in opt-ins a lot.
Wave's? I think 1 wave = 1 week, and i wont be surprised if they have 1 every week or so. Remember they want A LOT of data and to stress the servers as much and ASAP. This isn't WoW where you;re just checking the game is working, hell balance isnt even an issue in it. SC2 needs balance AND Server test something WoW has no need for in beta's since a) server's wont break and b) balance can never truly be tweaked until released.
just my thoughts, until further noticekeep checking that emal/bnet =P
Normally I dont get up that easily in the morning... But today my mobile phone brought me that email i've been waiting for so long!!!
I even got to play a game just before I had to go to work, luckily this was a short day, get to play for a long time now ^^ See you on battle.net :D
Yeah, I entered the contests that I could enter, but I've got nothin' but opt-in.
Dude - MillenniumDH,
You've made 23 posts in the last day and every single one of them is whining.
Just chill, not everyone gets into beta right off the bat. They'll keep inviting people up until the game is released. You'll have plenty more shots at it, and sooner rather than later.
And even on the chance that you don't get in, you've still got the full game to look forward to.
i was betrayed big time. followed the game 1 year before it was announced in speculation threads and even have wwi08 key and still got screwd over.
I guess the only real disappointment I'll have is if the game is severely delayed. If they make it for Q3 like they planned I'll be very happy. I'd be lying if said I didn't want to be in beta, but I was in no way expecting it, nor am I depressed about it. Beta starting is it's own kind of reward.
I WILL agree with you, Millennium, about the teasing part though. I'm very tired of developers talking about games for years before they're released. I guess it's important for business to ramp up peoples excitement and get a product into their consciousness, but I think in a lot of cases it has an adverse effect by getting expectations too high. This won't happen with Starcraft, or any blizzard game most likely, but it's always a danger.
Q3? Nononono...
Q2 buddy - June 2010. Keep up the hopes!
I don't know, we've seen some pretty crappy players playing during this first wave who didn't even know what half of the units are or how to build them. Many of us know this game inside and out like our own backyards, so will have a slight advantage in knowledge if accepted into future waves.
