So true, the only think bad in the sentry is its name XD. The whole unit is so cool and different!

if i remember the quote correctly, burrow doges D8-charges damage (and presumaby otehr AoE) if there is no detection around.. so a scan sweep would take care of it. but im not sure and im not motivated to go look for the source on this.
I wasn't advocating it, only pointig out that it could be done. I love forcefield to death and would hate to see it an upgrade.
As for ghosts, with enough time/ minerals, you can purchase a nuke. Who drops nukes? A ghost. Where is the best target for a nuke? A base. With nukes and some skill, ghosts can easily cause problems for bases and workers. Same with HTs who are also support casters but whose storm is perfect for drops. Maybe raiding wasn't the best word but w/e.
EMP kills all energy and up to 100 shields basically fucking toss casters in the ass. It also reveals nearby cloaked units for 5 seconds and requires no upgrade. Yay.
Did this message specifically say that burrow only dodges D8's? I seem to recall the info being rather vague, that it mentioned burrow dodging D8's, but it didn't rule out other AoE.Quote:
Burrowing doesn't dodge AoE, except for reaper charges, from what we've been told.
Source: http://forums.battle.net/thread.html...45&sid=3000#13 (Reaper Charges)Quote:
D-8 charges don't stick to buildings. You can only throw them directly to the ground and if you target a building they will just appear next to it. They also only damage ground units, so they won't do any damage to your buildings if you manage to lift them off before the charges blow up. You cannot damage burrowed zerg units if they are not affected by any means of detection. For example if you raid your opponent's mineral line and he burrows his drones you won't be able to damage them without a detector, like for example a Scanner Sweep.
Obviously once again I would like to remind you that this applies to the current build (yeah I know!) :)
I think Nukes will be relegated to SC1 status. Only used in long games where both players are dug in and an attack = a loss. It is just too hard to balance. It either isn't worth its cost and people won't use it, or it's OP and people will plan for it and make it useless. Sure, screwing around it's fun, but on the Pro scene, it will be a rare site.
I know that this was talking specifically about D-8 charges, but the ability to dodge any form of AoE with burrow simply didn't exist in SC1. It seems very strange that they would do it for just one ability, and the post certainly leaves open the possibility that it covers all AoE.Quote:
In SC1, burrowing Irradiated units nullified its AoE.
