Lurkers aren't being used?!
Give them cliff walking. They already have the spider legs. It would make them more versatile and a real threat at tier 3 in a world where everyone already has detection.
Move while burrow is a stupid idea for this unit as it creates no tension. There would never really be a reason to un-burrow unless a threat is really far away.

He didn't read it in a thread. It was tweeted by blizzard. Archons and Lurkers aren't getting much play time so they're playing with them.

I personally would have to see lurkers in game to get a better idea of their practicality. Because the game testers within Blizz have become rooted in their strategies that tend to work within their environment, doesn't mean that once the game gets more people using more strategies that Lurkers might come back into the spot light. I find it hard for Blizz to put much emphasis on their low use just within their in-office games/F&F beta.

This is all they have to go on. They want the beta to be somewhat balanced.

Well, FA, they could either be tier 3 and have cliff walking or be tier 2 and stay as they were.
Hell, they could even make this a tier 3 upgrade and change Lurkers back to tier 2,5. Now that'd be awesome! :D

Are you aware of the fact that lurkers now have 9 range? I think that's pretty sweet already...
Maybe they need to be tweaked, but I think their concept isn't too bad right now.

Hold on, did you just insinuate Blizzard's professional, in-house testers aren't old school enough? And for the record, a lot of things have changed (including the non-return of Scourges) that may have left the Lurker behind. In which case, the Lurker needs to evolve to match or be cut in favor of something new.
Zerg players now have more options to do the Lurker's job. For instance, by the time Lurkers come into play, so can Brood Lords who too have 9 range. On top of that, they're air units (so, fewer units can attack it), don't need to be set up in advance (hence, more flexible and spontaneous in use) and spawn Broodlings (which provide extra harassment).

Maybe, but currently they overlap with too many units lategame. We have Ultralisks and Brood Lords at tier 3.
So maybe no range upgrade but Lurkers back to tier 2 with a tier 3 (2?) cliff-scaling upgrade?
