If they wanted shield/energy recharge they'd keep it in somewhere.
Both have potential Ill admit but you only asked me about the building.
PC was lame and good riddance to that too.
Re: Obelisk Removed From The Game
I actually liked the Obelisk. I used the Shield Battery, and really like the Scourge Obelisk in WC3. *le sigh*
So we now only have two new Protoss structures in SC2. I sometimes think it's too similar to SC1... plus the graphics upgrade, of course. (Then again, I don't pay attention to many changes as they happen continuosly, so maybe there are more differences than I realize...)

If you did utilize the Pharoh, you'd be pretty busy; remembering what you tasked him on last, remembering to utilize him for important pushes, multi tasking him on building reconstruction and so on.
Makes me wonder what they're going to do here. (?)
.
Which is why i was always RA so my priests could empower too making EVERYTHING empowered XD.
Ontopic: Yes this is basically the same mechanic but this ability will more necessary in SC2 for every choice u make, has a larger impact. In AOM, something being a little fast helped in the tiniest way.
Re: Obelisk Removed From The Game
Okay see, Blizzard games... it's different.
In every other game, you get a slew of new units, new structures, completely different game style, but in the end, they make 10 units to do 10 things, 10 structures to do 10 things.
In Blizzard games, 1 unit can do 10 things that are completely complementary to another unit that can do 10 completely different things. So with 2 units, you have so much versatility. Same goes for their buildings. It's incredibly hard to design games with this kind of layer of strategy.
So they removed the Obelisk because it was literally a useless building and made their original buildings much more interesting. I find that much better design than litering your base with redundant buildings.

Energy and Shield Recharge is not Redundant.

I think if anything should have Argus Link, its the Mothership. Limited to one, so you can't spam energy to HT's for Storm.
Re: Obelisk Removed From The Game
I guess Blizz just settled part of the epic battle between Demosquid and Archer of Aiur. I for one am not surprised.

Boo.
...but that might be something. I'm hoping Argus Link ends up somewhere, and the MS is an obvious choice. Also, its late enough in the game where a little spam wont hurt too much. Plus it's even more incentive to build an MS.
I like it.

"The Obelisk is no longer in the game. Instead, the time warp ability which allows a building to produce or research faster for a set duration is now on the Nexus. This opens up several new strategies and the development team is really looking forward to what players will be able to come up with utilizing this ability during beta. "
2 questions come to mind:
1. How does this measure up against Warp-In? Between a Warp Gate and a Time Warped Gateway, which one produces units at a faster rate?
2. How does this interact with Warp-In? Is the cooldown shortened, warp time reduced or nothing at all?
