Damn... so long old bulky and almost useless nexus...
Agreed. Building a nexus in SC1 was pointless. Hopefully this changes things.
Wait, what?
Re: Nexus Now Has Macro Mechanic
Makes more sense than the Obelisk IMO.
Question is, what now of the Obelisk? Shield Battery 2.0?

Actually, for all we know it might make it even more pointless to build another Nexus. Maybe only one will be necessary, and given how so much of the Protoss army in SC2 revolves around warping...it might allow for remote mineral gather without the need to build another nexus. Maybe players will be able to create a wormhole of sorts that will allow their probes to instantly cross a distance on the map to harvest resources.

That would be a bit of a steep advantage I think.

Who knows, lately Blizzard is feeding us through twitter with crumbs
I mean, very little info...
I just hope there is indeed another ability or something to make it interesting...

too many questions... not enough answers...

Could be, but if done properly it could introduce a bit of risk to the player. Consider that this wormhole rift only remains open for a brief period of team after which it dissipates...leaving any probes on the other end stranded and needing to trek back home. The wormhole opening could be very weak and easily destroyed, making it susceptible to ambush tactics.

I agree. The lack of race differentiation with Terran macro is disappointing.
But as a Protoss fan, I am happy not to have to build obelisks at every base for max efficiency.

Me too. But I like that the mechanics now exist in the main buildings. The differentiation can come with the abilities themselves, and the risks/rewards of using them.
The thought of having to build an Obelisk near my mins every game was kinda sickening.

Very true, just hope if they do something like that its not to spammy/exploitable
Re: Nexus Now Has Macro Mechanic
Perhaps the Obelisk can keep its shield and energy regen spells and possibly even gain a psi field just like a pylon. It would be great for warp-in points.
