Wanted to lay down some thinking/reading I've done over the last day since the first gift: '1000' could possibly to February 11th, marking the 1000th day that has gone by since SC2 was announced back in 2007.
This maybe nothing, and this may be old news. If so, sorry, but wanted to share my thinking.

8 Pizzas. Gifted did say at one point in the old thread something about 8 players and Zerg winning (if I remember correctly), so perhaps the 8 pizzas refer to a 4v4 match? Even more wild of a thought, what if they're all Zerg? When I thought of a pizza, I thought of all the toppings on the pie, and then I thought of a Zerg Hive colony and how on the minimap it could look like 8 pizzas. (Hahaha, I really need to sleep!!!!)
