Re: Has anyone watched Avatar yet? Spoilerz
I loved it. Much better than I thought it would be. I was expecting it to just showcase computer generated imagery, however it had a quality story and kept my attention. I'll probably see it in theaters another time before it's gone.
If any of you want to check out this Avatar wallpaper I put together here you go...

Yeah. The reason being that people who don't bother to jump into the plot have access to flash programs and an internet connection.
Yeah, it's similar to "Dances with Wolves", but I felt that it had a fresh approach that justified the similarities. And comparing it to "Ferngully" or "Pocahontas" is like comparing Batman & Robin to The Dark Knight.

Indeed, and if anything, much of what makes it interesting is all the ways in which it is different from "Dances With Wolves".
And besides, stories that pass through more than one incarnation are usually the pertinent ones, the ones worth more than one look.
I think that (among other things) it presented a very lucid portrayal of Fascism (the American version of it).

So, I just saw it bout 30 minutes ago.
Drawn out, predictable, by-the-book "white guilt" plot with hollow characters you can relate to but ultimately not give a shit about.
The CGI trees were very pretty, though.

Saw it some time ago. Definitely one of the best movies this year, right up there with District 9 and Star Trek.
The visuals were great, and the plot (even though cliché) worked well. Quaritch was pretty badass too.

It's NOT fascism. It's colonialism, and it ain't just American.
Fascism is usually a LOT closer to home.

He is here. Co-operate and he will not be harmed. Resist, and suffer the blue alien princess nipple slip of wrath.
