A lot of modern, well-respected orchestral composers are starting to incorporate synthesizers into their works. I've not quite seen it to that degree, so that pleases me.
This is Max Richter's extended version of the music from a ballet he composed. It's unsettling and mellow at the same time. He's also recomposed Vivaldi's The Four Seasons to such a degree that it only uses about 25% of the original, and it seems to have been extremely well-received by his peers and fans of 21st Century orchestra. Notsomuch with holdovers of the 20th Century styles, however.
Currently listening to Infected Mushroom - Converting vegetarians II :D
Hey, me too!

I'm not sure if which I like more, this or The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull. It's bleaker but more organic than the latter.

Two blue lights
One's the blue light of the late night bus
One's the blue light of the moon over us
One's got the diesel fuel on her breath
One's got the damp taste of the earth on it
Two blue lights
There's a dead archer in the tower you can't hear it but you can tell
When the bells ring twelve times in hell the bells ring twelve times in this town as well
Two blue lights
Two blue lights
It's spoopy.

Hah, Nissa. You should check out Lustmord.
Nice link, Muspelli. Need to find more of their stuff!
For some reason, I've recently fallen into smooth jazz. Damn you, LA Noire.
I actually managed to pick up a limited reissue of Purifying Fire by Lustmord last May for a very good price.
If you like Songs: Ohia, you'd like the singer's stuff in general. He renamed the band to Magnolia Electric Co. after the release of the Songs: Ohia album of the same name, and he's also got solo stuff under his real name. A lot of it's mellow and sad without being bleakly depressing.
I'd recommend the following five albums as they are my favorites by him:
Josephine (Magnolia Electric Co.)
The Magnolia Electric Co. (Songs: Ohia)
Didn't It Rain (Songs: Ohia)
What Comes After The Blues (Magnolia Electric Co.)
Pyramid Electric Co. (Jason Molina)
I'm currently listening to The Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden, and am either putting Brave New World or Seventh Son of a Seventh Son on after. Hallowed Be Thy Name is bae

And if you like Lustmord, you might also like Hecq. His range is quite broad. From ambient to dubstep.

But right now, this is my drug.
It has a lot of the things I like; chiptune, retrowave, power-metal, it is just an all out adventurous ride:
In other news, new Infected Mushroom album out in a couple of days :D...
Whoa, can still see my old comment about Converting Vegetarians II a few posts up...
Some good shit. Reminds me of Stranger Things. Stranger Stranding? Death Things?
I can't tell whether country music is making me more right-wing or if I'm listening to more country music as I move more conservative. Excellent bit of Canadian alt-country:
