Thors design and its efficiency
I have some doubts about the Thors ingame design, and it's role, i don't realy like the guns on the back design and the Strike Cannons ability. It has to many roles, and i would prefer it if it would be just a meatshield and a heavy air counter.
I just want some real rocket platform, and not rockets fired from it's chest. But if they cannot do that, they should just change the antiair attack from rockets to flack ( wasn't it that way for a while?), so those huge cannons on it's back would atleast have some sense.
The current design is far away from being practical or efficient in a lore sense. It's design doesn't realy look cost efficient or role eficient, and lets even forget about realistic:p
So i'm wondering which of the used thors designs do you prefer more, the cannons design or the rocket design.

Re: Thors design and its efficiency
The Thor no matter WHAT design will NEVER be realistic or efficient.
It's fine the way it is to me, personally I really like the rocket animations, the strike ability, and its normal attack.

What in StarCraft do you consider efficient?

Who me? I consider the fact that Terrans don't use any melee weapons efficient (unless you're an assassin or something).

Um, yes? Do the Terrans in any way strike you as people who are "practical and efficient?"

I was directing that question towards Perfecttear.

I don't have the energy to discuss this unit at length so I'll paraphrase what I've been saying for years now. The design sucks, it's a jack of all trades, and nothing about it seems fun.

I've grown to kind of like the unit. What doesn't seem fun about it? It has many applicable uses.

It has too many applicable uses. Hence, jack of all trades.

I consider the siege tank efficient, not so the viking, because of it's transform ability, it would probaly be a bether air fighter(more agile, faster) if it would only be designed as a fighter, and had no ground form. And i also think that marines are cost eficient, and i'm talking in a lore economy sense :p not gameplay, just so we are clear;).
Basicly simple is bether, i consider stuff efficient, that is not to complicated to build, has no excesive stuff that it realy doesn't need ,stuff which only makes it more exspencive , longer to build , and makes it more heavy and less mobile, meaning it has to be optimized for it's job.
The thor is the oposite of this, it is not optimized, it has almost everything but the kitchen sink on itself, it onyl neds detection , and it would have almost every role posible :p
If i would be a terran enginir, i would create 3 different units instead, that would be far more efficient and easier and much more cheaper to build than the thor.

That's also true :p
