Well, so a clean record eh? ...joking...
Well, back in the line... Will a moderator face a flexible job (like a little task or contribution to the content staff, there or there) or will he face a narrow range of activities (forum related)?

It's funny how we have a new member called gearvOsh and he created his account today, sadly it can't be him cause Blizzard employees can't have accounts on Blizzard related forums.
BTW PT you told me that you are from Austria so don't call me a creep
You know you love the attention. ;)Quote:
don't call me a creep
I'm confused why I was even brought up into this discussion. The fact Santrega, that you have to refer to me personally, and even go through my forums to find certain quotes says a lot. If you "dislike" me or my site for that matter, why are you even lurking on them?
You may call it being "professional" but I call it "moderation". From what I have seen LOA doesn't post much, and its probably for the best (something I do already). I have to take everything into my hands, because I'm the only admin and caretaker of my site, so I cant just sit around and not do anything.
Now onto the fact about these quotes:
Its funny how you pick "those" quotes, but never took the time to find any quotes where I explained game development and production, or even web production for that matter, or any of the cycles that are required to deliver content to the public. Sure I am harsh about it, but your not going to get the point across when people create the same topic about the same thing 15 times, and have been told not to or use the search... and not do anything about it.Quote:
Oh my, some of you are just terrible at guesstimating development times and production cycles.
No you guys just wont listen to logic, because you know nothing of production, development or programming cycles. Enjoy your grieving.
And regarding all the posts where I "mock" them for being upset about the beta, I was way out of line and I admit that. Its a bit infuriating seeing a thread reach 100 posts in an hour, of all the users just bashing Blizzard and complaining and whining because beta *presumably* has been pushed back. Especially when the users know nothing of game development, and after being at Blizzard and knowing what it takes to get things moving forward, the users think they have every right to ask everything of Blizzard. Seems your doing the same thing Santrega. Would you like it if someone was bashing your family about a something that they knew nothing about? Its the same idea.
Imagine having to moderate the SC2GDF everyday, albeit on a smaller scale. Its a reason why blues don't post much on their forums.
You don't see me posting on SC2GDF, or any other SC2 forum for that matter. And I rarely even post on my own forums except a few select topics (like the beta delay one) and site bug reports. Theres a reason I didn't post "OH SHIT I GOT A JOB AT BLIZZARD" all over the Blizzard forums, if I was such immature prick, I would have.Quote:
However, now hes not just representing sc2armory in an unprofessional manner, but he is now representing blizzard that way as well.
Speaking of which, I had no problem with you Blazur, we even played TF2 together. Ever since I "corrected" you on one of your SC2GDF posts, you seemed to just be a giant ass, how are you any different than me? You do all the same things on the SC2GDF, you even troll the shit out of them, stop being so hypocritical. But seeing as how you don't run a site, its perfectly OK for you to do it.
Nice pun! But I'd like to say, just because I've been an ass on some forums doesn't mean I'm not overly qualified for my position. There's a reason I've spent the past 2 years working up to get this job. Your the one who said I wasted my talents and lost my chance at a job, glad I was able to prove you wrong.Quote:
And the fact that he got a job at Blizzard in light of this attitude of his grinds my gears (pun intended). I can think of a handful of more deserving individuals with a far better character.
Finally, LOA, did not mean to insult you if I did. As for Santrega and Blazur, have fun on the SC2GDF and next time you have something to say, don't hide behind some other persons forums. You have my steam account Blazur, you can IM me any time ;)
LOA see you at the next press event (if there ever is another one!), hoping to play you in SC2. Not sure if we played last time.
Im finished, you can delete this post and my account now.
Um you made a mistake, if someone finds out from Blizzard that you actually made an account you will get fired!
I talked with Xordiah and the deal is that Blizzard staff is not allowed to have accounts at such sites. So or you are not gearv0sh or you are but there will be consequences for this. But I think that the first option.
Oh and screnshoot taken and text copy.
Spychi, weren´t you part of Blizzard Europe?
Same rule would apply to you... ^^
Congrats gearvOsh for the position (if it's you) and everything else in general; but I would follow Spichy's advise of vanishing from the forums if I was you. Don't want you to get in trouble.
Never once did I question your qualifications, you've certainly got skills in the field. All I'm saying is you're an ass online (take this thread as an example) and it reflects badly on your site (and community). But I guess the SC2GDF brings out the worst of us.
But let me put our differences aside and take this opportunity to sincerely congratulate you on the job. You've earned it.
No, in the end the choice felt on someone else
And after some time I realized that there is more positive things about the fact that I didn't get the job, for example problems with health, I doubt that I could handle them abroad by myself
It doesn't mean that I hate or whatsoever Blizzard for that, I still love all the folks there... heh I remeber when I made a thread about getting in to Blizzard ranks, I was like "zomg lol wtf"
I am still aiming for Blizzard's jobs, I want to get in to the gaming industry
EVERYTHING is pretty much calculated in SC:L this days. Wonder if SC:L is destinated to...
*points at something in LoAs back and runs away*
Guess this excludes me as an candidate, not that i actually had the requirements before :p
And Spychi, so i told you that, strange i can't remember, must have been drunk:D
Speaking of, why arent you a staff member Spychi, if you are such an "qualified"
person with all the conections you have. Wouldn't hurt ;)
Edit: I don't actually want to be a mod, but i would fancy to have my name in a different shiny color :D
Maybe we could even have an contest for this :p
In July I was talking with Rise about joining the SC:L (I still have the application though) and when I was about to fill the app, I got a response from Blizzard Europe/from Xordiah, so I thought that it would be better to improve my french language skills and focus on that job instead of joining SC:L since it wouldn't make any sense.
...And when I saw yesterday's thread I thought that now it's a good time to join SC:L.
Ive moderated several times in several forums. Its interesting because every single forum requires for specific modding chracteristics. I am still not sure what this forum needs, besides a good beating.

Good luck to both of them :)

Oh, really? Congrats to both of them then. :)Quote:

Congrats to sandwich_bird and Sarov!
I know they'll be great mods because they've been great community members.
Congrats guys.
Congratz guys.
What does the purple name color indicate?
The colors represent Administrator, Content Staff, Support Staff, Forum Moderator. Simple enough, aye?
I want my name in bright yellow, to represent "Forum Douchebag."
Guess i was deceived by your avatar (female bird):D
Anways congrats, and you have the coolest color of all the staff:D
Nice! ;)
Meh, i didn't had the necesary requirements for the yob :p
And i also think that some specific staff members don't like me:o I asked once if i could also have a different color, and i got in return that it can be changed to red (which is bad), and they also took my star from my name:(
Isn't it alredy enough obvisious?
Anways,i'm wondering if we will see even more people joining the staff or is this all for now?
-
Wait why did they take away your star?
I second this movement.Quote:

On another note, I want to congratulate Sarov on her awesome promotion. I know you'll make us proud. Your first assignment: illustrations of all forum members, past and present. (Or maybe just the esteemed ones?) Gogogo!
I onced asked LoA to have a star "★" in my name, and he said no. Regardless of being rejected i simply went to the next admin Gradius and and asked him (without telling him thai LoA alredy said no), and he said yes :)
So i had my own star :D But soon after that LoA found out that i ignored his no, and he didn't like that his decision was overruled by Gradius. He wanted to remove my star, but Gradius didn't let that hapen. ;But LoA still didn't like that, and he took it away regardless a week later :(Quote:

Gradius can't technically overrule me ;) But he did nail me on the technicality. Honestly, I can't even remember why we ended up deciding on no. But for the record - I don't have it out for you/not like you. And the name color thing - that's only for staff. We already have enough of a rainbow don't you think?
~LoA
Congrats lady and gentleman.
Now that I look at it, SC:L has the full cold color spectre and non of the calid ones. SO I'LL GET A BRIGHT RED AVATAR
PT - I'm the one who ended up taking it away because it would mess with the user tables between our forum software and our front-page CMS software. :p
Meeh, i think there is still room for one colored star here, :D
Anways have you considered on having customs titles here on SCL, i think that just having junior-senior member is not enough. You could reaally make something original and fresh for your userbase, something special. I think you should really consider this :)
You could make a poll?
