Alright I'm about to give you guys insider info.

The artifacts are actually the key to "everything" everything being a metaphor for "Earth"
because back way back in the past Earth was the center of the universe and everything else, or so people thought.

So once you acquire all these artifacts they are uploaded into an E-mail and the E-mail gets sent to the "server" which is in the Demon world. Once the K-sector collides with the Demon world, demons from the anime "Bleach" start pouring the hell out.

The Xel'Naga are like holy shit wtf we didn't plan this and they band together with the Xel'Borg to fight off the anime demons. The k-sector races unite together to fight against the anime demons, who are the ancient leaders which Duran referred to.

Unfortunately, these anime demons destroy the Xel'Naga and the Xel'Borg (the Xel'Naga's cousins), and the K-sector races are the only ones left. In the midst of a battle, a black hole appears out of nowhere but unknown to anyone else it was actually part of the communication processes of the E-mail to the "server." This black hole sucks everything and everyone into it, closing afterwards. To the guys sucked into the black hole, it's been 10 seconds. To the guys on the other side (Earth) it's been 2000 years.

This whole anomaly with the time space continuum blah blah bunch of made of science causes Earth to have 2000 years of more advanced technology than the races (and the whole k-sector) who got sucked into the black whole and appeared on the other side in only 10 seconds. In other words, the K-sector races traveled to Earth in 10 seconds, but in Earth time, it's actually been 2000 years.

This change in time has lead Earth to adapt their battlecruisers to cattlecruisers.
Slayers_Boxer is the new god emperor, and his right hand man is iloveoov, he left hand man is ihateoov. Together, these 3 form the powerhouse of the United Earth Directorate.

Their motto has changed from "Serve the directorate, serve humanity" to "cry me a reaver."

In conclusion, the sheer awesomeness of Earth from the 2000 years causes everyone else to explode. They GG, Earth wins.

And that is why the artifacts are the key to everything.

You can build universe-destroying-weapons and universe-destroying-weapons-factories but you dont have enough time to fit your people into a protective bubble the size of a planet that you also had time to make.

Since we have no clue how the artifacts will be used, discussed or stylized, also no idea how central to the plot they will be, I'm having a hard time making the jump to where you can base these "suspicions" of the hack writers over at Blizzard. Also, Morrisey. Lol.

At least a few of the artifacts are the "fossilized remains" of Xel'Naga.

Considering the life cycle, I'm thinking that the Xel'Naga transfer their essence into their progeny via these "energy fossils". To clarify, remember in Queen of Blades when Zeratul murders Zasz? He reveals his "true form" in the shape of a glowing sphere of light. I think that the Xel'Naga die in a similar fashion. However, these fossils are these orbs, only crystalized.

Once these Artifacts are activated (eg their essence is transfered into new bodies) they will no longer exist. Those who possess artifacts may all have a measure of control over the Hybrids, unless they are all gathered by a single force, who alone could control them.

In short: if done properly, I think this massive scavenger hunt could go off pretty well, from a story perspective. :D

We already know that each campaign will have their own "ending", but the "big ending" will happend in the last campaign. For example: a Terran ending could be the fall of Mengsk, or something like that. To resume: it's similar to SC, you "win" at the end of each campaign, but the big event happends at the end of the last campaign.

The artifacts are of Xel'Naga origin, so it's possible that the Hybrids want to get them, and the Xel'Naga returned to stop this from happening, and continue the cycle, saving their race.

I wonder. The ending for Wings of Libery will ultimately be the same, but will the context? What I mean to say is, if you go down the Dark Path, will your intentions be the same, than if you followed the Light? Will the Final Mission's objectives and briefing be the same? Or will they be different?

What would annoy me is to have all my attempts to kill the Koprulu Sector be obviated by this final mission. Makes all my hard work into nothing. =[

You were betrayed by the AI they set up to protect them while they did all of that...
And it takes time to screen the refugees for the universe-destroying-parasite.

You simply won't have that kind of moral decision to make. Essentially, your choices are "anti-hero" and "hero". "villian" isn't one of them.

Blizzards really good at the concept of "in character deviation". Look at how they handled WoW. Basically, you make hundreds of choices on whom to "side" with, but ultimately, everything still makes sense (to a degree). Your character is still essentially the same.

Essentially, they're really good at giving you choices with different outcomes that are within the reasonable deviation of a character.
