So what would be the plot of Heart of the Swarm/Legacy of the Void then?

Heart of the Swarm would have no ending, and the plot would be a lead in to Legacy of the Void, which will end exactly as Wings of Liberty ends.

havent they said many times that each game/expantion will have a ending no clifhangers etc

lol well you left out some details


Heart of the swarm has Raynor and Zeratul teaming up to take down the last remaining conclave members who are trying to reactivate the remaining artifacts. However for some incredibly arbitrary reason the conclave has decided to replace all zealots with Ursadon. The ending battle has Zeratul fighting a jumping battle against a particularly large Ursadon with a Psionic Hammer. Meanwhile Raynor has decided to followed the conclave to Korhal aboard a flying Xel'Naga Watchtower. It ends with him proclaiming he is here to "Cease this Conflict".


Finally in Legacy of the Void Raynor has to fight of collosus to kill time until the zerg fall out of the sky (which they always do eventually). Then he has to track down that little adjutant robot lady who has been captured by the reincarnated overmind. He also must destroy the "Artifactory" which is a bigger artifact that makes other smaller artifacts. Its all part of this convoluted Xel'Naga backstory which doesnt really make a whole lot of sense no matter how many times you read it. Oh yah and then it ends with Raynor driving his hellion around exploding stuff again.

I meant that the plot needs a singular ending in the sense blizzard said that the would have single ending.

Their really arent that much player choices in sc2 lore-wise, only in what units you unlock and some side-missions.
