Okay, we'll all go enjoy our fun and you can sit arms crossed in the corner.
Seriously dood, if you hate the games so damn much, why do you keep posting to bash them? -_-
I like hanging out here. Besides, I don't hate them. I'm just in awe of modern media in general. I didn't think I would see the day when it's acceptable for massive visuals to replace story, and I'm not simply talking about Starcraft here. There's stuff like Avatar, Mirrormask, Transformers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, where dizzying, imaginative affects replace competent storytelling. It's a massive phenomenon that's gone to the point where it feels like most people are caught in a conflict: they either mistake presentation for a job well done, or passively accept whatever straws they can get in terms of story, where a story is "good" because it is adequate.
In other words, there is no hate involved. I'm fascinated by everything. It's like living in a psychology book.
In the clip's support, it's very nice. Very powerful. Though I might not show it, I do share some of the guys' optimism that Blizz is trying harder with this one. Despite whatever flaws LOTV may have, if they care, I care.
I find it odd that you listed mirror mask as a movie with "massive visuals" and absence of storytelling; an obscure movie about a girl's journey into a world of her imagination (pretty nutty like alice in wonderland) It didnt exactly wield high budget CG effects. Although the first one over I liked better, having Avengers orchestrating character interactions and development of that number of heroes deserves merit points to Joss Whedon, who definitely makes a point to focus on story first.
I'm not too surprised, this trend isnt that different from other markets; investment in book cover art for example, video game demos [gearbox and their snake oil sale of Aliens: colonial marines]
I mentioned Mirrormask because I'm reviewing it now, and well, some people claim it's a "visual feast." My point was more about people's perceptions rather than that being necessarily accurate. Mirrormask's visuals do have a charm, though. Like early 90s programming book covers. However the effects turned out, it was clearly trying to be a visual feast.
Yeah, the first Avengers was better. The second one had so much moving camera moments I felt like I was going to be sick.
You know it also just hit me.
Episode I followed Raynor.
Episode II mostly followed Kerrigan.
Episode III, they retconned that the Executor is Artanis.
We have truly come full circle.
Refresh my memory. Wasn't the executor stated to be someone else before this?
No, back during development they stated that Artanis was the Executor. Even before that, though Queen of Blades did the same.
Yeh, can't even fucking launch the game due to the last patch, and now I hear they added every other unit BUT Arbiters in Legacy.
I'm seriously considering not getting this (what would be the point if I can't even run it anymore?) and there's no way in fuck I'd buy a new PC just for this game (even if I had the money for it which i do not)
