Well the zerg would probably do that as well, and we all know how fast a ling can run, if a zerg is infected, just carry it away. Then kill it. the rest will be safe.

I'm using the lore source StarCraft: Hybrid. It doesn't take a lot of intelligence to talk anyway. Given they already had a language center of the brain, if it only partialy "rotted" it can still be partially functional. However, non-brain dead infested terrans like Stukov, Kerrigan, Morik and Stewart are a major plot point post-Brood War.
