I really love that Sarah Kerrigan artwork depicting the cinematic where she gets captured.
Any chance of the admins having a higher quality version of the image that isn't just a photograph of the art? Would make a great wallpaper :)

Yeah, I support that request as well, Sarah's HD Portrait would be also awesome
fap fap fap... hahhahaha
Haha, nope, sorry guys, it's just a pic that was at the art booth which we managed to nab. :)
I've got a picture of her 3D render somewhere. Not colored, though, but pretty good quality. I'll see if I can find it...
I wonder though. New Gettysburg in the background of that art doesn't look like a space platform..
New Ghettysburg is the name of a city on Tarsonis.
What's the confusion about?
Mission 9 of StarCraft Episode 1 was set in a space platform.
Ya, that is pretty strange.
I thought someone at blizzard addressed this at one of the events. They used the space platform because they didn't have a city tileset and it wasn't worth it to make one for just one mission. The space platform looks the most city like so they used it.
Is this along the lines of what you're looking for?
Dude, the retcon happened years ago. No use getting your undies in a twist now.
From what I remember reading on the wiki, the New Gettysburg map used in the game was a recycled from one of the "disabled" missions (Operations Silent Scream, I believe), and the original NG map--which was set planetside--was reused for yet something else.
Putting NG in space was something they resorted to for lack of time & resources. They originally intended to have it on the ground, but the lack of a true city tileset made that unwieldy (and the pressure from internal deadlines made that infeasible to add). In a sense, the corrections in Liberty's Crusade and beyond are a UNretconing the retcon to the original script.
Besides, whether New Gettysburg was on the ground or in space hardly matters; whats important is that Mengsk left Kerrigan to die and that plot point shaped the course of the entire series. There are far, far more difficult retcons to swallow--this one is comparatively minor.
I'd argue the importance, but I was led to believe they preferred the orbital, given there was a Wasteland map version of the same mission.Quote:
i can't believe they would retcon something this important
EDIT Beaten by Visitor. :)
Speaking of flash back scenarios, it would be awesome to see Fenix and his time during the Protoss section. A series of scenes depicting Fenix and Zeratul slaying the Cerebrates in a mini-flashback. Not sure how it would fit into the story but I can dream :D
I was hoping there would be some flashback concerning Tassadar. I could see him being remembered and portrayed as a mythical, almost deific figure. Apotheosized. Falling down from the sky like a streaking meteor, clashing into the hideous, lovecraftian form of the Overmind, throwing up a monolithic wall of light and fire to cleanse the land of zerg infection. A sacrifice that is as glorious as it is tragic and pyrrhic...
Ohh yeah.
Tassadar is the meteor that crashes into Tristram Cathedral in the Diablo 3 reveal trailer.
Yes, I am that epic.
I love you, Squiddy.
Didn't a Prawn once tell you that?
In any case, is there any hard evidence that the Queen of Blades will get de-infested in one of the levels? It doesn't seem impossible, but I'd need the Heart of Gold to tell you how improbable it is.
It will not happen, at least in the terran campaign.
Rumours may have started based on this flashback, seeing a pre-infestation kerrigan out of context maybe ?
I wouldn't be surprised. A lot of people jump to quick conclusions.
I love the fact that SC2 will have flashbacks though!
Being able to see those key character/story moments with actual character expressions is awesome. (No the low resolution portraits don't count) :p
I hope to see even more Kerrigan flashbacks in Heart of the Swarm.
On an artistical note: I like that they changed her eyecolor from green, since Nova also has green eyes. It makes them more unique in terms of appearance IMO.
On the other hand, one could argue that it's a biological thing that powerful (female) human telepaths have green eyes...but that's for another thread. :D
They looked grayish blue to me on those photos - Even though I'm not colorblind, I even checked the color spectrum in photoshop (lol), but they were inconclusive as the lay around the gray area.
Either way, on those photos they aren't nearly as "emerald green" as they used to be.
Maybe those of you who actually took the picture can clear it up? It may just be the lighting. -_-'
The artwork was good stuff. They really put some time into gathering all that I imagine.
My first thought was hazel.
They look more natural-green than you usually see in art. (Most art paints people with green eyes with like emerald green eyes, when nobodies eyes are ever THAT green.) But grey-ish tint I can see for sure.
