Protoss - Human Offspring
I saw this picture and thought it was awesome.

I'm sure the artist didn't mean to make this the offspring of a Humand and Protoss, but he unitentially did.
It has general protoss phsyice, and characteristics, no mouth, nose, ears, and general shape. Yet it has human pigment, and human fingers, human nipples and bellybutton, and it seems muscles similarites to humans.
It has the ability to grow a beard, which Protoss can't do, and its hair seems a good combo between human hair and protoss nerve cords.
I love it and my mind is racing trying to come up with lore for this^_^

Apart from gene splicing (e.g. gestalts), I doubt it would be possible. Forget who said it, but the phrase "we're closer to a raddish than a romulan" (genetically) pretty much sums it up. Besides, humans are mammals, while protoss are plant...things...and may not even reproduce in the same way. Someone I doubt it...

Yeah I suppose untill Blizzard tells us how they reproduce ("In today's BlizzCon Lore Discussion Panel we have a very intersting question from the audience...") gene splicing would have to be it. Maybe somehow implanting protoss DNA into an already fertilized egg inside a woman.

But what kind of story could u put behind a protoss - human offspring (I hate to use the word hybrid, so let's use the achronmn: "pho").

I'm no biologist, but I'd say it's probably more complicated than that. Protoss and Human biology are completely different, and wouldn't mesh well together. I mean, Hell, getting the wrong blood type during a transfusion is deadly. What do you think the Protoss's bioluminescent photosynthetic blood would do?

Gestalt was an interspecies graft. Hybridization though is beyond Terran technology, as Matt Horner said.

Btw, Zeratul also has nipples in SC2. It's sounding like Protoss reproduce sexually.

Not sure if that is conclusive evidence (although correlative perhaps) that Protoss reproduce sexually considering that nipples are really for suckling young. This brings into question how Protoss would even do that when they have no mouths and supposedly 'eat' sunlight (or whatever).
Until a Protoss *ahem* schlong and/or vag (mmmmm, Protoss porn! :p) is shown we can't really be sure. Then again, knowing that there are female Protoss (with human-like breasts even) that exist, this alone is evidence they reproduce sexually. Before then, the various Protoss characters are non-descript in terms of gender (aside from being voiced by human males and coming across as being masculine in human terms).

Maybe Protoss had a mouth once in their evolutionary history, and it vanished as it was no longer useful but the nipples are remnants of that time?

Has anyone noticed whether Zeratul had a navel in the cinematic? That might provide us with another clue one way or another.

I think Blizzard just forgot to remove some non-sexual characteristics.

There was some evidence that protoss laid eggs underwater in the game StarCraft: Ghost, but this is now concept art for a game that was canned, and so shouldn't be regarded as canon:

I don't believe such hybridization would be possible by terrans, and the protoss would never do such a thing. (Unless Ulrezaj gets free and has a crazy idea.) The zerg could pull it off due to their genetically flexible biology, but they never managed it (perhaps due to subtle sabotage by the Overmind?).
