You're such an asshole.

The only thing about the Nydus Worm that drives me nuts is that you can't retract it once you're done with it.

How can something which has no limitations as a mobile unit, that moves units underground and can pop up anywhere thats open be less versatile than a nydus which can only be used on creep? It doesnt make sense...
You can argue it may be safer, than a mobile unit which is vulnerable to being detected and attacked, losing the contents... But you really have no argument that its more useful nor versatile than a mobile unit.
Lol at beta questions. We all know it will be November/December.
Because the mobile nydus can't be used as well defensively. The current Nydus can help you protect your existing infrastructure. (Pop a worm up next to all your hatcheries... boom, instant defense network.) Seriously, there's no end to how versatile the creep-worm is. Your army can be ANYWHERE you want it to be, in an instant. As long as you have creep.
The mobile worm also can't transport as many units as the creep worm can.
Sometimes it takes that.
YOU'VE REACHED MISINFORMATION CENTRAL HOTLINE. THIS IS PW SPEAKING.
1. The original Nydus Worm could travel across cliffs. He could also travel through gaps on the Space Platform tileset. Really, guys, forgot all about this one? There was absolutely nothing he couldn't cross.
2. The Nydus Worm of early 2008 was better than the Nydus Worm we have now. It functioned in exactly the same way except it could travel underground to wherever you like, including the middle of an enemy base, unburrow, release its cargo, let them wreak havoc, pick 'em up and escape in any direction it likes. And the enemy wouldn't even know unless he managed to follow it with an Observer/Raven/Overseer.
Imagine a Cloaked Wraith -- once it stops attacking, you have absolutely no way of knowing which way it went, or if it's still there. Well this is the same story, except half of the units capable of chasing it down, like Viking and Phoenix and Corruptor, could do nothing once they found it.
The Nydus Network that allows multiple Nydus Worms to connect already existed in 2008 when the Nydus Worm was still a unit. Seriously, it's been nerfed.
And that sounds reasonable to you? That the primary answer for transport mechanism, whether they are Warp Prism transport, Warp Prism Warp-In, Medivacs, etc are completely useless vs the Zerg.Quote:

That you can have a ground unit in places that only air units can go, where AtA units ought to dominate, and they can't do anything to it. Even the Viking, with it's ground form can do nothing because there's no ground there.
Sorry; a transport mechanic that requires Banshees, Mutalisks, or God only knows what of the Protoss (Void Rays are too slow to keep up, Phoenixes can't attack them, etc) to be able to stop it just doesn't work.
I know the going theory on these forums is that this form of the Worm was removed due to graphical concerns, but the gameplay nature of the unit was far more critical to my eyes for its removal.
