Looks like the world didn't end today after all

"I am utterly absolutely, absolutely convinced it's going to happen," said Harold Camping, the 89-year-old evangelist and president of Family Radio whose biblical calculations have ignited Rapture fever across America.
What a failure of a minister. I'd like to see how he explains this to his congregation.
Here is what Hitler had to say:

Don't give up hope! We still have a few hours! Death will embrace us all! Praise the IFSM!

What a miserable failure of human life this guy is. Mankind needs to wisen up and stop behaving like mindless automatons by believing this sort of crap.

Re: Looks like the world didn't end today after all
Harold Camping has issued a statement, "Whooops! My calculation appear to be off by a small margin. Apparently, it was May 21, 2021 5:59 PM. See you guys in ten years!"
What's always made me laugh though is that these people believe the Bible is the infallible word of God, yet the Bible specifically states that no one will ever know when the rapture is and that those who try to do so are missing the point entirely and pissing God off.
Re: Looks like the world didn't end today after all
Crap, that's even a shorter ammount of time since his 1994 prediction.:(
Anyway, I believe Red vs. Blue can sum this up nicely...
Red Zealot: If the flag is gone, who will lead us? Who will inspire us with their shiny pole? Who will flap directions to us in battle? We are lost! And the world as we knew it is gone from our eyes! Only to live in our memories as the days of salad and glory! Truly these are the end of times! Repent! Repent!
Blue Solider: This sucks, I'm leaving.

So how specifically did he came up with this anyways?

The number five equals "atonement", the number ten equals "completeness", and the number seventeen equals "heaven".
Christ is said to have hung on the cross on April 1, 33 AD. The time between April 1, 33 AD and April 1, 2011 is 1,978 years.
If 1,978 is multiplied by 365.2422 days (the number of days in a solar, as distinct from lunar, year), the result is 722,449.
The time between April 1 and May 21 is 51 days.
51 added to 722,449 is 722,500.
(5 × 10 × 17)2 or (atonement × completeness × heaven)2 also equals 722,500.
This man is a brilliant mathematician, if only the shit mattered.

I think I read somewhere that the Bible says something about the devil using numbers to decieve people. I guess they conveniently overlooked that, eh :D
