How can Blizzard maintain the hype until beta?
We had all this buildup to Blizzcon only to end up beta-less. We have reason to believe it won't be out until November/December. Even all the SC2 information we did receive could be seen as lacking: Battlenet panel was about battlenet, not SC2. The lore panel wasn't a lore panel, it was a voice actor reveal. The editor demo was legitimately awesome, but without the editor in the modders' hands we still don't really know what they can and can't do.
I give the Blizzcon info 2 weeks max before there's nothing else to talk about.
How will Blizzard keep the masses' excitement up until the eventual beta release? New battle reports maybe? More beta key contests?
(I'm content to wait until December if I have to; this isn't a complaint thread - it's for speculation)

I think you answered your own question. It's the same story as last year -- we expected Beta, Beta didn't arrive, we were disappointed, life went on. Those who want to talk about SC2 still talk about SC2.
Hopefully they'll pump out a couple of new battle reports for us to get through.

Well they've said they are shooting for a september release of the next battle report - which is supposed to be NaDa vs Moon from a few months ago.
That should hold us over until October at least. Might not quite be enough to reach november but hey ;p Maybe they start earlier than expected...
..... Yeah right lol.

The fact they didn't talk about SC2 and talked about Bnet and the editor mainly is a good sign SC2 gameplay is largely finished?
Re: How can Blizzard maintain the hype until beta?
They said it was pretty much complete about 6 months ago.
Re: How can Blizzard maintain the hype until beta?
Dustin said the delay gives them time to touch up unit looks, etc
Re: How can Blizzard maintain the hype until beta?
They could start with the right foot by publishing all the Blizzcon matches in high quality.
Re: How can Blizzard maintain the hype until beta?
As they always do. Few new screenshots, battle reports, maybe beta key contests! Anyways we all NEED patience;)

Lol :D that much complication just to play with your friend... that's why I liked LAN :p, anyways, they said they'll give something that will replace it well.
On topic.- I'm still waiting for it, just hoping they don't delay it too much ...

A few beta key contests are a good way to keep us hyped.

Well, if you're on the same LAN, you should be logged into the same server, anyways. You're in the same physical location, after all.
Re: How can Blizzard maintain the hype until beta?
How does that complicate playing with your friends? Are you not going to know what server your friend is on when he's right beside you? Are you going to somehow be in different continents and LAN?
