You can also set a rally point there. This is very good. You can conceal your whole army, build a Worm near an enemy base, and avoid walking all the map to get there. You can use your island expansions to send ground units everywhere you want.
It's a very powerful mechanic, people should be using this a lot more that they are.
This is the Zerg cliff-climbing mechanic, and if you can do this on a border of the enemy's main unnoticed, it could be GG.
It should be allowed to be moved away, but maybe they don't do that to avoid the Zerg player to send all his Worms to the same spot, and move it's entire army in a few seconds.
You forget to mention how you only need a lair to build a network.

Can a mod change title if this info is wrong?

Yeah it is powerful and the buddy I went with used it a LOT for defending his base mostly, and it made it extremely hard to attack because his army was everywhere at once. As for getting units around the map, once the worm is build I'm pretty sure it stays there so you basically have a warp for your units around the map.
But don't forget if you don't have anti air defense around your base worms and warp-in make GGs almost INSTANTLY at that point.

Yes you are correct, you just choose the worm you want and send the Swarm via Nydus Network.
I am 100 % sure that you don't need another Nydus Network to build more worms and 100% sure that you require creep, since I can recall a moment when I tried to place the Worm where there was no creep and I couldn't spawn it.
If you don't have all your base (on a high level of terrain) covered with buildings and/or with units...yeah GG.
It was easy for me to just spammm Zerglings into my oponent's base.

Yeah, it doesn't matter how big your army is if your opponent gets warp-ins or worms off right inside your base they can take it out really fast and cripple you, while they just have to run back to their base to hide, which is where the Nydus worms really shine.
Re: Nydus is build anywhere with vision!
I dropped a few Qs to the Blues a couple seconds ago. Hopefully they will answer.
Re: Nydus is build anywhere with vision!
Better yet, the Nydus Worms can create nearly instant walls once you have access to them, walls that don't risk supply and may call your army to the spot with a click of a button.
Zerg can turtle if they want ^^

My friends who went to Blizzcon, who keep absolutely no track of SC2 and are noobs at SC1, say that the Nydus Worm requires creep.
Now take into consideration that they're noobs, and of course will try the Nydus Worm off creep because they're not sure about the unit's mechanics, so I'm pretty sure that they're not imagining things when they say it requires creep.
On an unrelated note, wtf, Battlecruisers have an upgrade to increase their battery attack to 8 (x8) otherwise it's just pew pew.
