They've changed plenty of things based on fan outcry, many of them to do with gameplay, like introducing and cutting units. Carriers, anyone?

If there's anything they're going to be reasoned out of, I think voice casting is by far among the most reasonable of things. They thought they wanted to go in a new direction and people would enjoy that, they saw that people would rather see exactly the same thing as before, so they did the smart thing.

Of course, that's if this theory is right. I'm sure there could be a hundred others.

The only thing is, it's already waaaayyyy too late to reason them out of Kerrigan I think. Sounds like they've already got most of the lines recorded.

Oh, obviously. I don't think anyone in this thread has any delusion as to the likelihood of having it changed.

And frankly now that it's been announced to be Tricia Helfer, I'm not sure I want it changed. It's just such a weird situation is all...

As much as I would like to see/hear Glynnis back as Kerrigan, lets put things into perspective.

We're getting Tricia Helfer, a talented voice actress, who more or less fits the part of Kerrigan, and is in Blizzard's view a perfect fit.

If this was the Kerrigan VA of the Zerg reveal, then I can see pause for fan outcry. But what we have now, Kerrigan will still sound like a strong, sultry, queen bitch of the universe.

@Visions of Khas: That's a good point and it goes along with what I believe. There's SOME reason for the change. We just can't see why yet.

It would be a different story if Glynnis was dead but she isn't so theres no need to replace her as Kerrigan, it's just a stupid move by Blizzard and I won't be happy till they bring back Glynnis.

It's that kind of attitude I have a problem with, honestly.

After watching the whole panel on youtube, I have to say, I'm really, really stoked for this game.

Especially the SC1 flashbacks. Plus, Mengsk's guy was hilarious and awesome at the same time; I had forgotten how awesome Mengsk's voice is. I can't even hate him anymore. :\

This aspect will probably be the most grating for me. I hated when they re-did Jim's voice and will feel the exact same when do it to Kerrigan's.

For me the minor voice differences that I probably won't even notice are going to be a small price to pay for the glorious cinematic versions of SC1 ingame events.

Jim sounded the same to me in the brief clip, to be honest.
